Both Ceylinco Insurance Company PLC and Mr. Lalith Kotelawala have reduced their voting shareholdings in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC between 2010/11 according to information published in the annual report of the company.
Ceylinco Insurance remains the largest shareholder of Blue Diamonds with nearly 1.5 million shares comprising 5.24% of the company’s equity as at March 31, 2011, down from nearly 7.3 million shares(12.29%) a year earlier.
Kotelawala with 819,916 shares held 0.79% of Blue Diamonds as at March 31, 2011 against slightly over 1.1 million shares (1.90%) a year earlier.
Among the non-voting shareholders, the Golden Key Credit Co. Ltd. held nearly 2.8 million shares (1.80%) of Blue Diamonds, down from nearly 2.8 million shares (2.7%) it had held a year earlier.
Among the 20 largest non-voting shareholders of the company is Ceylinco Capital Investment Co. (Pvt) Ltd. With slightly over 1.7 million shares (1.12%), down from the same number of shares which comprised 1.68% of the company prior to a rights issue that had been floated during the last financial year.
The rights issue was under-subscribed.
