According to the Introductory document, the company was effectively valued at Rs.509 million at the aforementioned share transfer. Meanwhile, Capital Alliance Finance recorded a net profit of Rs.9.4 million for FY11 with an Earnings per Share (EPS) of 28 cents. The 1Q12 net profit was Rs.4.1 million with and EPS of 12 cents. The Book Value per Share (BVPS) as at June 30, 2011 was Rs.6.90.
Capital Alliance Holdings acquired 99.9 percent of Capital Alliance Finance which was earlier known as People’s Merchant Finance Company Limited from People’s Merchant Bank (PMB). Before the finance company being acquired by PMB, it was known as Silvereen Finance Company Limited, owned by a famous family in Kandy.
The four major shareholders of the company are Capital Allaince Holdings (88.04%), Andrew Deshan Pushparajah (1.147%), Opulant Fund (Private) Limited (0.97%) and Chrishantha Priyanga Richard deleted (0.97%). (IS)
