Experts,

Can somebody tell me how to calculate EPS when a company has both Voting and Non Voting shares?
Do we have to divide Profit after Tax from voting + non voting?

The Earnings per share can be found on the latest financial report of any company Smile

It may available but rather than blindly looking at it shouldn't we learnt to calculate it.
Infact most of statements are unaudited. So can't they be wrong?

You should always add both voting and non voting shares to calculate the total number of shares for EPS and Book Value Per Share calculations.

Divide Net Profit attributable to Ordinary Shareholders (i.e. after taking care to deduct minority interest and preference share dividends in particular) by the above derived total number of shares to obtain the EPS for the period under consideration.

In the case of Rights Issues and new share issues though, further adjustments will be required along with time weighting.
