Sri Lanka LOLC/ Dinal buys 35% of Asia Siyaka Commodities

Oct 07, 2011 (LBT) - Sri Lanka's LOLC Group and investor /CEO of Taprobane Securities Dinal Wijemanne has taken a 35 percent stake in Asia Siyaka Commodities, a tea broking firm for 228 million rupees, LOLC Deputy Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara told LBT.
Accordingly LOLC Group had acquired 20 % and Dinal Wijemanne had acquired 15% of the Company.
Dinal Wijemanne told LBT the new buyers and the majority shareholder Asia Siyake (Pvt) Ltd (with 65% controlling shareholding ) would take Asia Siyaka Commodities public soon .
The deal was facilitated by Nishan Sumanadeera of Frontier Capital Partners Ltd, one the leading investment advisory firms in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka's listed Asia Capital earlier (July 2011) sold 40 percent stake in Asia Siyaka Commodities (Pvt) Ltd, to Asia Siyake (Pvt) Ltd, for 175 million rupees.
Asia Siyaka Commodities (Private) Limited engages in broking and packaging tea, rubber, spices, and other non-traditional commodities in Sri Lanka.
Asia Siyake Commodities was founded in 1998 a group of experienced tea brokers in partnership with Asia Capital.
