Friday, 07 October 2011 11:05 -VIMASUMA

What I feel is CSE Experimenting their rules on poor Investors has caused the down fall of the Stock market.

This started with the DPL Share last year July. They did not have any clear idea to over come and waited till the share went up to 130+ to halt it. Then after 2 days they introduced the price band.

Then came the T+3 rule.

All these were without any plan. Brought at odd odd times without any proper ground work even though they may be good.

These plus unable to protect the small investors fm manipulators who are fast and had sufficient funds to play which the poor small time investor did not understand.

Finally the small time investor did not know how to trade so before he could buy and sell he has been forced to make a loss, Since he did not hv money and support fm any one. When the broker wanted to help CSE was not in favour to extend the credit rule.

Therefore at this stage the market needs a stimulation and CSE cannot go against their rule so what I feel is market will fall till it can sustain with the ground situ.

As you see now many have had their forced selling so only a few transactions are taking place and those who are dealing are those who have funds. Those small timers do not hv funds to buy at these low level since they have lost and are not in a position to loose any more.

All experts like to have your thoughts on this, is my thinking correct ?

I think it all sums down to the mentality of all our traders, i see there are many people on different forums asking people what stocks to buy and at what price and at what price to sell with absolutely no background of the market or trading. We cannot expect someone elses' decision or advice to make money, Investment and trading must not be treated like lottery tickets. With the exponential growth of individual investors in the past two years i think the main thing to focus on is proper education and awareness of what you are getting into, else you will be at the complete mercy of the people who manipulate into getting all of your hard earned money, try to read as much as you can, learn and Invest, preferably with long term goals, and maybe a percentage allocated for trading. I could go on like this but i think u get the general idea. Anyway... This is just my opinion... Its just sad to see people losing their money and getting frustrated. Cheers!! and Happy Investing!

Well said tjalendran.
This is a major reason, if not the main reason, for the current terrible situation of CSE. People hear stories about lucrative investment opportunities called "shares" and come to CSE without no knowledge and start trading. I meant no disrespect to anyone's knowledge, but this is evident by the number of posts we see like "I bought ABC @ 100, now it's 60. What to do?" etc.
I think this forum can do something about this, at least by asking its members not to panic.

CSE should responsible for this. They hold seminars in every week to introduce the stock market to the people in many areas as well as rural area which are far from towns, but they don't provide background knowledge.

If you have used to watch the programme telecast on Rupavahini on Sunday 10.00 a.m., you could see some people from rural areas call and ask crazy questions. Sometimes I wonder about some of them.

It tells us the size of the mistake done by CSE. Entering these kind of investors into the market makes it a weak place. Many of them become panic sellers and push the market more down when it has went down. We will only be able to see an upward in the market when these people getting out of the market.
