I personally think that averaging is a good strategy. However in your case i make an exemption. I do not think averaging again at Rs. 3.30 will make much of a difference since your cost is Rs. 3.71. Only 41 cents difference know.

So if your intention is to average then don't do it now. If it goes below 2.50 or something like that then you might want to consider doing it.

However I personally think it is a good share which has long term prospects. Good price to collect if you want to increase the numbers.

The only problem is that bulk of this company's revenue comes from Tea and Rubber. these industries currently face a tough time now. Watch out for that.

Future of FLCH seems different when we look at their future projects- We can't look at it as a mere plantation company then. They are interested in Hydropower,Leisure, Property development etc. They are going to build a multi story commercial building with state of the art facilities in Borella Junction. In my eyes this is equal to Seylan Development building(CSD).

More importantly, it seems the company strictly follows the Green Concept when we look at their projects, which leads to sustainable development of the country

Agreed. However for the time being basically this is a plantation company. Borella building takes time to generate revenue. Recently only they have laid the foundation stone for that. Currently HPFL and other hydro power projects contribute very little amounts to its bottom line. Since plantations are seasonal and cyclical business this share would fluctuate in the short run (during the next 1 to 2 years) until profits are consolidated with the other diversified projects like commercial property and leisure.

I have seen posts in this forum saying this is under valued. Well you need to look deep in to this argument. Price is Rs. 3.30. and the book value as per latest financial reports is something like Rs. 4.60 I think if i am correct. It appears that this is undervalued. But book value largely consists of valuation of Timber stock as at balance sheet date. So you need to look into this.... like what is the basis of valuation of timber stock and etc etc..... However I still like this share and believe it has good future prospects.

DONT WORRY FRIEND, Share price is fluctuating frequently. That is natural.FLCH is a good counter for mid/long term. But all of a sudden can go up if some one interested to take over the controling power. In such a situation you will bw able to exit with a good margin in short term too.Let's see what happened to CTBL. It was tading at Rs. 4.00 ,4.20 level couple of months ago. Now 8.00 and above. So be patient and wait for the correct time to exit. Untill such time forget your FLCH shares and engage in your day to day works. I have more than 300000 at 4.70. If I am not get worried with a cost of 4.70 per share, you should not worry as your cost is only 3.70.

I can't see any good in this, worst IPO,PCH was 100 times good than this, suppose this IPO was 10 rupees then now value 6.60,even PCH traded for 8.5+,also there want be a manipulation like in pch, because the price is less and volume is high, soo long wait, people who buy this don't know the meaning of "opportunity cost"

Absolutely agreed. If we think of an investment, this is the ideal stage to enter. FLCH got money from Private placement and IPO selling the share at 5.00 and now trading at 3.30, It's a great buy for me,because not only FLCH but the subsidiary, Hydro power free Lanka (HPFL) have not utilized their IPO money yet.So that those who enter at current price level are at great position.Besides that they earned hefty profits from plantation subsidiaries in last year due to higher rubber and tea prices.Furter we can expect listing of their subsidiaries which FLCH holds 100% especially the Commercial building(As CSD), which will increase the capital position further.

When we consider their future projects, I think they can produce more than 1.0 -1.5EPS per year excluding the income from plantations, i.e probably after 3-4 years. Then a fair P/E of 14 will make FLCH more than a 5 bagger then Smile

This is the share for mid/ long term.
As above said who knows the price can go up suddenly.

i think in around 2 years time people would have wished they have bought at rs 3 level same as when JKH was at the 50-90 level... this company has a very strong and experienced management team and this can be proven by looking at their future projects as they are investing in high and positive growth potential industries .... this is one share to keep an eye on Twisted Evil

People who has long term patience with this share will be rewarded with hefty gains. Short term, there will be marginal fluctuations.

Currently it is mostly a plantation based company. Hence the negative price trend. But it will be a diversified in the future with leisure, property and hydo power expansions.

Also let us not forget who controls this company ;-)

to be fair i will remove my mask & speak the truth ... since i hold this share @ 4.7 & 4.5

@ Last AGM i questioned why FLCH going down towards like this ?? & Why directors selling like this ?? dont directors have any intension about company ??? then simply Speaker said this is plantation based company & Thy were stuck with T issue. I think this will be very long term investment Razz (very specially im not happy the way that gentlemen answered)

We rarely find directors who invest and also follow principles to protect their share holders ( not dump in times of trouble). They invest for profit. As they know more about the company status with wage issues ( as they have inside info) they will can dispose their shares and buy again when it is trading at much lower.

Now if the directors are true investors and are genuinely concerned about their share holders they will not do trading as such to join to bring down the share price. But we rarely find that kind now.
