I feel, most of our money is going to be lost, or stagnant in the market for sometime, unless you eventuallyy break even, or sell at a minor loss.

I base my decisons on these current events.

1. The Expropriation Law which came in to power, have already scared investors. The main goal of this law was to not only over come assets, but also that private limited companies which are the engine of this economy, their plan is to collect much of taxes now. This bill will make sure that business owners will fear of seizing their business by state and will make sure, they record profits, which is paying healthy taxes YoY.

The policy of this goverment is give and take it back.

2. Interest rates are going up, all the major banks, including Commercial Bank.
Few weeks ago, went to make a fixed deposit, the manager couldnt offer me more than 8.5% because Commercial Bank is strong bank
and has excessive liquid. But now, its 9.5%, you negotiate with him and eventually you get 10% . This is Commercial ~Bank.

but there were other banks which was offering more than 9 - 9.5% before Commercial Banks incresed the rate.

what does this tell you, We are having the highest interest rates in the world and 10% f.d is defenitely a good return for now.
As we speculate, I garuntee the interest rates will hike 2% more by next year.

Other develop countries doesnt get so much from banks, so there only source is other alternate investments such as stocks, bonds etc.

But here, people are going to forget about investing again, and had f.d's because its much safer in an unstable political interfering economy. Sri lanka is still not a free economy, and all these news what we get is, propagandic.

CSE has not even made any of our long term investors a return at the moment.
I would agree, about the cycles of the bear phrase and bull phrase, about world economic conditions. But theres alot going on here under the rug.

Transparency is down for shit.

3. Foriegn Investments, ony a handful, well its less than that. We only hear that there are going to establish, but there is no confirmation. Allocating of land just to put a billboard front of the green front.?
Even if the investments come in, it doesnt help us, it doesnt help the main force of this economy, the private sectors.

Occupy Together- Im sure some of you here dont read the world news or watch them. Occupy together is to end corruption, greed and many more. To movement to stop wars made by the EU and many more. i have no time of writing a description of theire motives, But we should appreciate them for fighting for something they know its right.

What we do is, inclduing our oppositions is just to sit front the camera and make some bullshit news, Actions are more powerfull than words. The main point of Occupy Together.

If we need to make our voices to be heard, we should stand up for whats is right, or else, the way it goes, we are being trampled and buried alive.

There may be many other things which everyone of you could think of, im enjoying my cup of coffee trying to create some awareness. Please feel to add your opinions

I have to agree with some of your comments. But comepletely being out of the market might not be wise option. At any given time any share ( some more than the others) can have a run due to various factors ( good or bad).

Also there are some companies trading with PE of 5-10. PEG also low. More importantly there are shares which dropped 30-50% from their previous top values and even at those price they are undervalued with current earnings. So how long the big shot investors are going to keep quiet on these? Time will tell.

Best solution is ofcourse to invest part in FDs and part in stock market. You can increase ratio depending on ones strategy. Ofcourse FDs are sure safer option with less risk. Stock higher risk higher gain/loss

For our knowledge if we compare the below chart and table, I think we'll come to a conclusion why we are at this situation. ( Deep analysis must at this precise moment - result may be bitter for retailers, but we need to accept - purely my opinion may be I'm wrong)

Yes , if one expects stock markets to continuously go up it is mere dream. After heavy bulls runs there will be corrections and volatility periods. But within bear market there will be runs too. So completely staying out might be an opportunity cost.

Banks need more deposits to meet the growing credit demand, therefore they have to increase the interest rates to attract deposits.

More funds will be diverted away from CSE.

In a good Correction the overvalued junk is what should come down drastically. Buy what happens is that in correction the already undervalued stocks also come further down. So is there another huge correction my question is what will get corrected ?

We are still not in a matured market. But we see a glimmers of it little by little
