look at SEYB.X. even at attractive dividend, it is now traded at 45.50. even at last Oct. doomed days, it didn't fall below 47. market is not in right path. i'm afraid that, we may be able to see large blood bath coming days.
Well said xmart. I also feel the same. Sad

I'm pretty sure those 10000 like total illiquid stocks that are trading are the *same lot* that is passing from one person to another everyday. It's like the pass the box games. Person who get the box has to pass it over before the music ends.
I think it's better to keep cash these days especially with the food price going sky high.

a market in which the bluechips go from bottom to six feet under. This is ridiculous. Its only going to drive away long term investors while the retailers enjoy their casino style gains. Personally, me being a long term investor, still am dubious of where this market is headed with these type of things going on.

problem is foreigners and institutional buyers leaving market everyday. probably they entered at ASI 3000~4000 and booking their profits because, they may think market is overheated. this happened around ASI 5000 too. people thought now market is saturated and should face to a correction. with that mind they don't want to stay at market with putting their profit in risk. but at that time, market found new set of buyers.

now CSE should find new set of buyers other than small retailers. nowadays market is driven by retail attraction, manipulators are using this retail mentality of "double the capital in one week" to play their game.

I will not join them at the peak, Illiquid shares are too high to buy now, are the others going to sell fundamentally strong shares and buy those shares at a peak level and loose from those shares as well as from the existing shares. I think it is better to collect sound shares at this moment. Lot of crossings took place in JKH and banking sector shares recently. Medium to long term investments are going on in these shares. At the end these shares will perform well. What can the real investors do? let the gambling go on in one side at the end they will burn their fingers, and the investments also can go on in the mean time.

Those are not sustainable, just short term fun.

Since market is encouraging to earn a "quick buck" instead of long term investing, big players are manipulating in big way. Starting from IPOs people try to play with money which actually they do not belong to by using bank guarantees, margin trading, T+ etc. I thing SEC has to immediately step in and do something otherwise this will create a bubble which might burst very soon.

According to press reports SEC has discussed the bank Guarantees issue and will soon issue necessary instructions. I also notice that a bubble is forming and the oversubscription does not reflect the exact position.

Franckly speaking, this doesnt pose any issue to you and me also systematically. Only profits of big investors will be gradually down due to cost escalation. If SEC is to act, its is typical Sri Lankan way of doing things, when there are bigger problems, we worry over unnecessary things which has no effect.

Moreover, the issue of this market behaviour, i highlighted couple of days ago, but nobody looks interested at that time.

I expect market to correct strongly going forward, at least 15% to 20% drop. I have no issue of long term prosperity of the market, but short term a big big correction is looming. I am gradually withdrawing from the market for the time being.
Sorry for the incorrect spelings
