Dont say we didnt warn you of the failure of this IPO as well.. Even if your intention is to hold this as a long term investment, we repeatedly said you could get this below IPO price..

Its so pathetic some of our investors lack common sense, I dont wanna name out so and so but members might remember the ppl who campaigned here to market PLC before the listening..

I must remind you that its not the company we pointed out band its purely the no. of shares.. Mind you again, 290 Mn is a massive number and up to now only 2.5 Mn traded...
Do you think this will go above 18 in near future when other shares started tradin' at a time where market lack a direction at all?

Today so much of panic caused the dip below 6000 ASI.. If we dont see this reversing by 5800 then we're heading down for sure..

Now should I remind you what will happen to PLC in market like this.. Not specifically PLC, 90% of the shares will see this menace..

There will be massive promotions from company representatives, big ppl who wanna buy large parcels encourage you for these IPOs..
At least act wisely here after... Just cuz its an IPO u dont have to jump in..

Some of my friends from overseas wanted to buy PLC after seeing the promotions. But I told them wait you can get it below IPO prices.

According to my knowledge the only IPO to double it's value in recent time was ODEL.

I heared that employee share ownership (free shares they got) has transferred back to People's bank . No way of verifying the news. This is not to promote the share. Do not make your investment decision on this

Are there any investors in this forum who bought at Rs. 18/= and sold below the IPO price? Please let us know. I am trying to find a reason why its going below IPO price.

Anyway I did not invested in this. Just interested in finding the reason.

Do u think a wise investor would invest in a company who'd give out 390 Mn shares to public?

Even a trader would think thrice to whom he's gonna sell these???

If you cant understand why this is going below the IPO price even after coming to the market at a disastrous time as this.. u should stay away for a while till u realise it.. Wink

To : smallville

You are the intelligent one. All the others are...... well i don't want to comment.

First of all....your first question which is "Do u think a wise investor would invest in a company who'd give out 390 Mn shares to public?"

Issue amount 390 Mn shares. Total no of shares is 1560 M. What is issued to public is just 25%. So what is wrong with giving 25% to public? ahhhh?

There are many companies in CSE where there are more than 25% public holding. Find those yourself. Global Moderator.

Hint: Look at banking stocks.

Also main holder is People's Bank. It is a government institution. It is not a private company. So they have been generous in issuing 25% to public. What's wrong with that?

When there are high public holding you can not manipulate the stock the way you want. So we should encourage the authorities to come up with rules where if a company want to get a listing they need to issue some high % to public. I think these are implemented in other developed markets.

Anyway as per your comments it appears that you think this is a disastrous time for the market and for the investors......

Is this true?...............I don't think so. Because for value investors and intelligent investors this is the time they go on shopping....................

People like you just follow the flock and think this is bad time...........change your mentality so you could win. Don't follow the flock and say this is bad time. Just find any good stocks and enter the market. Because this is the right time for shopping.

PLC IPO was oversubscribed..So all investors who couldn't get the amount they requested should be happy to buy in open market for 18.00 or much higher price like 18.10 or 18.20.
I am also interested to know the reason for selling at lesser price.

To all investors

I think this is a good case study. Can't we all contribute and find the reasons for this IPO to go below IPO price. It will improve our knowledge in investing.

To my knowledge there were no Private Placements here.

The shares given to employees for free were all taken back I think.

So only reason I think is People who bought at IPO price have sold below Rs. 18/=. Rational may be to collect at much lower prices.

There were rumors that employees were forced to buy from IPO. And they were given loans up to Rs. 2.0 M from a private bank. So there is an interest cost too. So these guys may have sold at a loss.

What do you all think?

Is there any other hidden reason which we haven't come across?

Is that possible? How do you demand employees to hand over what was given?

Because this company was a subsidiary of People's Bank, the employees unions of the said bank were not happy about this company going public with IPO and employees of PLC getting free shares. So they may have reversed what was given. There were lot of paper articles about this where Bank Unions were up in arms against this IPO.
