This is not to make panic among already wounded investors, as many are saddled with huge losses and disparately wanting market to bottom out without further down turn. But are we prepared to bear further onslaught or what strategy would you adopt should the market continue this down trend.

Simply putting; "if market drops by lets say another 20% (ASI at 4500) over next three months what would you do?"

My strategy would be that I would continue buy until ASI 5750 and will stop buying any further, and will start disposing counters which are having higher PE in Descending order, and will start buying again below ASI 5000. ( this is purely imaginary levels)

If you prefer the topic please contribute.

I think this is a good topic to discuss at this precise moment.

I advised my son who is investing in CSE to go for dollar cost averaging on fundamental strong stocks.

Periodically those who invest for a long or medium term will survive.

There are a load of bargain counters opened for us.

Have a good trade.

Could we see the same upward momentum that we had seen in 2009 and 2010 given the badly wounded retail investors (whom are more matured) and institutional investors fully invested and in a better regulated market (hopefully with less manipulation) ?

Agreed, but you can see a load of crying in this forum by so called investors, sorry gamblers.
No one can't change fool's attitude.

My strategy is collecting good shares which may shoot up in couple of green days.

When buying, I try to get at bargained value (10% less than mkt val)or buy when the price is moving up.

Above all I refrain from panic selling. To do that, I stay away from continuously monitoring ASI and share prices. I just put some buy and sell orders in the morning. Then come back when the market is closed to see what has happened.

Since it is difficult to predict the market bottom i divide my resources and buy selected stocks at different levels and keep an emergency reserve to buy in case market valuation drops significantly provided macro economic conditions are stable. Like the peak quickly falls, the bottom also can recover fast.

Cheers!

Good question, Tiger...
It is possible for the ASI to drop by 20%, which I believe would then be the bottom (50% Fibonacci retracement: High = 7,864, Low = 1,608).
If SL's economic outlook continues to be stable, I will continue to buy shares of fundamentally sound companies.
I will stop buying when my equity portfolio value is equal to 50% of my total financial assets.
I will sell only when the share price has increased by 50%. (I am sitting on an unrealized loss of about 20%!)
