I never sell with a loss, once there was a force selling ....without my preference. ...Since then do not keep any excess, rest of the shares can be kept on long term....might recover next year ...

Hold them tightly. Don't sell. Wake up one day and you will find that your capital is no more !

I am holding my advicer is trying to sell some of them.

Did anyone of you ever dream 10 months ago that the ASI will drop from 7800 to 5800? There is a great possibility that the ASI will slide towards 5000 by the end of the year.

Possible changing the base year of calculation. LOL.

Anyway if some big group of companies decide to de-list from CSE, that will weaken the ASPI. ( Which I had a suspicion in one group in future)

Can a company de-list at anytime as they wish?(is it only if they go bankrupt or something like that?). Then what'll happen to the shareholders?
Please explain..thanks Smile

Logically Yes....U are correct but practically we can not compare 7000 to 6000 loss from 6000 to 5000 loss.
First drop will cause by margin calls and panic sellers/gamblers and etc.
But when it goes down there comes real money and real investers. So 2nd/3rd/4th step drop is ,I rather do not say impossible but not that easy also.

people who predicted the ASI 6000 level, including me got criticized big time. if force selling starts in December, this is not that far.

I of course sell at a loss, if trend looks bad. let me mention some of the stuff I sold at a loss and you can realize how much I have saved, and how correct That decision was

DFCC 170
SAMP 255, 245
LOLC 138, 110
NDB 150 range
DIST 180
KGAL 238, 205, 175

there's whole lot more, once I was 100% cash, not any more. Guys please don't criticize me for this.

just thought of shareing the benefit of having a stop loss and I feel it's a myth 'Never sell at a loss'

index manipulation upward or downward is very easy in this inactive market.you dont need to be a high net-worth manipulator to do that. sell 100 shares of any illiquid share at a deep down price.or buy100 shares such as slt 5 rupees high.
these days we can see lot of such things are happening.those who want to sell portfolio buy some illiquid stock at high to keep the index without falling untill they dispose portfolio.
remember the error trade of dist that triggered the circuit breakers.if someone want to collect at low ,put the the index down by selling 100 shares at deep down price.you can see so many 100 share trades these days.

true. also you cant buy SLT at 5 rupees high if there are sellers at 50 cents high, first you need to buy them off
