-----------------------------------30/09/2011---------------31/03/2011
EPS--------------------------------2.60---------------------2.63
NAVPS-----------------------------13.37--------------------11.27
PAT--------------------------------108,303,000-------------107,706,295
CASH & CASH EQUIVALENT----------(131,017,000)-----------16,169,724
BORROWINGS-----------------------937,185,000-------------447,603,759
NO OF SHARES----------------------41,550,600---------------41,550,600

Break-up of the Income
Interest Income---------------------468,658,000--------------595,660,503
Other Income------------------------45,806,000----------------44,277,851

  • There is a clear indication of increase of the Interest income significantly as we saw in the COCR. Because of that PAT has been increased by 149% when comparing with last year same qtr.

  • We can not remove the total other income to see a fair picture, since there are indirect income through their operations under the other income, such as Insurance fees, early settlement charges.

  • If we remove the total other income from the PAT, the EPS will be 1.50 (six months). But it is not shown a actual picture.

  • Current PER as at 31/12/2011 by considering the AEPS as 5.20 (2.60*2) is 8.32. Smile Smile

  • Current sector PER is 13.20 & market PER 15.80 ( Source CSE.lk)

Mr Osmand what do you want the rest of the members to do with your analysis? Whilst appreciating your intention all these info is available in more detail in their annual and quarterly reports which are public documents.

I agree with you all the infos in public document, but our experiece clearly saw in the past that we are not going through those documents properly no? If someone annalysed in this forum,so many are asking where did you get the infos? So what is the meaning?

I feel proud on osmands work, at least he is trying to spoon feed some guys in this forum.

For me,you and some few members can think these details are not helpful, because we are going through most of the infos in our spare time and doing the home work time to time.

So many here mate, need spoon feeding, sorry to say the bitter fact.

Well done osmand Keep it up.

I can not do that my friend, because some may think i am promoting shares which I have my PF. So that i don't want to do that. You have to decide whether you go to that share. I can give a clue........... think about PAT & other income, think about PER, think about % of public holding..... bla bla bla Smile

Therefore the price of the VFIN can move up to 75 + . I can not say exactly it will be gone for that much. It will depend according to the market condition. But there is a possibility. Isn't it ?

75+ ???
Is this not promoting your own shares my brother.

This is what most of guys do in this forum. A few may be innocents. But most are master manipulators. They load their portfolios first and post all the valuable research reports afterwards !

Thanks for the analysis. I would like to see an analysis of their loan book vs public deposits. We need to analyse above two factors to ascertain future income. Bear in mind these finance companies are struggling to meet credit growth. Further we need to see how they are meeting capital adequacy ratios. I have strong feeling that they need to capitalize. Already many financial institutions have done it or are in the process of doing that, e.g. BOC $147m from UAE, PABC Rs.1Bn from Japan, LOLC Rs.XBn from BOC.

NB: I've investment in VFIN and collecting.

Up Trend Trigger
by Tiger on Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:02 pm

As CSE stands right now is in a bearish patch, it can be a prolong slide, but non of us can predict the bottom. However shall we talk about the possible triggers that could stop this slide and pull the markets up to a sustainable uptrend.

Corporate earnings are not going to resurrect the market, and its clear from the Q2 results. Even the companies with impressive results are sliding.

In my understanding some tax concessions granted through budget 12, or lowering of corporate tax rates can be a small trigger, at the same time I think re instating broker credits as it was before could also be another.

The expropriation law will certainly hurt foreign investments for a long time to come and could cost lot of money if sovereign credit ratings were down graded.

Some of the other triggers could be;
1) Better employment numbers in US
2) Resolution of debt crisis in EUR
3) Some Big local banks obtaining foreign financing
4) China devaluing its currency by 10-20%
5)

Guys do not dis-encourage who post a valuable analysis. Do not feel jel! He or she post the analysis may have bought relevant counter already. That is up to him. He has already wasted his time/effort for that. He deserved it.
It is up to you to decide buy or not.
Those who are following the crowd first go to hell. Those who do home work select the stock before others!
Good luck and Wish you happy new year!

I know who you are.. Don't think we are fools just because you came up with different account and insulting other members like Rajitha etc. Hence this is a forum we can share our views and criticize others views with valid reasons. I think you have mental disorder to criticize other people's efforts such as analysis. If you really want to throw stones at others, go and criticize spammers and promoters that posting useless posts everyday.

If you think you are genius, what are you doing in this forum? Just shut up and wait. A lot of people benefit from these type of posts since it saves time, because they don't have to go through all annual reports since members summarizing it in forum.

Yes VFIN is one of the undervalued stock on Financial sector that have great potential.(i don't have VFIN on my PF)

Osmand keep up your good work. appreciate it..
