@Chinwi wrote:I think those who have got online facility without proper knowledge are doing this kind of unfortunate trading.

My broker said these people do not know they buy N or X, just clicking the mouse !.

She said, few weeks ago on the last day of CSEC rights, many have lost entire rights they bought online without knowing they have to pay more money through the broker. For the ppl who bought last day of trading , they tried whole day by calling to the people to make them pay. Unfortunately many had no money for it.

BTW, this will make many additional rights available for us ! because I am sure these people will not pay another 10/- for the same share.

I have 17,000 MARA rights at the moment but I will never sell at this price to earn big profit with curse.

Now time is 10.47 there are still buyers for this ! OMG someone sold his right @ 11.50 and used that money to buy N @ 12.90.

BTW, If brokers are doing this bad practice CSE have to interfere.

BTW what happen if some one does not pay for the rights. How can we buy such additional rights. what is the process to do this..?

if i am not mistaken buyers may be the investors ( specially retailers ) who don't know the difference between N.0000 & R.0000. I think same happen to WAPO R.0000 as well

This is we call manipulation on low supply.
It is first day of trading most of the right still haven't lodged in the CDS
One can sell his rights by doing a manipulation

Hey guys,

It is not a joke, Rights can trade at a price higher than the normal share due to many reasons..

Think of a shareholder who want to buy more than 30% of a company. In a normal situation he will have to make mandatory offer at the market price he purchase normal shares.

But instead, if you buy rights and subscribe for rights, you will have to make the mandatory offer at the price you subscribe for rights and not the price you buy rights. This becomes very attractive when rights are issued at a heap discount to the market price. You save the entire cost of the mandatory and the unneccesary investment.

Think of CSF shareholders who would buy rights in the market. They need to make the mandatory at Rs 5 per share regardless of the price they pay for rights.

Yes, you are right about rights making it possible to take over a company through a back door. But in case of MARA, doesn't the LCEY group control more than 50% of this through various subsidiaries?
