Hi guys,

I've been reading the forum posts for the last few days and i need to know what a price band is?

If any share price banded it can't go up more than 10% and same happened to down tread as well can't go down more than 10% it's doing for control that stock price unusual price movements Surprised

Me too new to stock market.
This is my understanding about price band..

When a stock's price goes very high or low for several days, due to some reason (eg. upcoming rights issue, split, dividends, etc..), then they impose a price band.
When that happens during a day that stock can go up or down only by 10% of the value of the previous day closing price. e.g if it closed at Rs.30 yesterday, today it can go up to only 30 + 3 = 33 or go down only up to 30-3=27. so today it can trade between 27 - 33 only.
I think the price band will be there for 10 working days.

Please correct me if I am wrong Smile
