There are about 15 brokering firms but asia capital, capital trust are better.

U should go to one brokering firm and open an account. You can get necessary documents from them and open an account. It is a one day work. when u go there n talk to them they assign a agent for u.

No matter what is the branch. Even you can buy and sell shares online

If you have any doubt please dont afraid to ask from your agent.

Wish this information will be helpful to you.

After creating your account, you can get advice from your broker/advisor. But don't trust them 100%. First learn the basics before start trading/investing.

Here are my answers

1.As my experience, capital trust is the best. You can get the online trading facility free of charge and with a minimum balance.

2.First, you should have a good knowledge about a share before purchase. You can buy shares by contacting your adviser through phone and you can also place buy/sell orders through online using the application.(For capital trust, it's DirectFN TWS. It contains so many advance facilities and also simple interface)

3.As I remember, you need your NIC,
any water bill, electricity bill, telephone bill or bank statement which your name has appeared on it to confirm your address. It is worth to have a bank account because some broker firms directly withdraw money to the bank account. Ask from your broker about that and open an account where your broker's account lasts.

4.It doesn't matter your resident because you don't need to visit the broker institution often. You only need to visit if you want to transfer your shares to another CDS account or to another broker or on a special incident. I have visited only two times, once to open the account and next to transfer my few shares to another account.

5.

*Don't believe your advisers suggestions always. Some of them mislead investors. Learn basic things before do trades.

*Your first trade should be less than 1000 rupees so no need to very much if you make a small loss.

*Don't buy or sell 1,2 shares because you have to pay a high tax even the share is worth 2 rupees. (You will have to pay 2+15(tax) = 17 rupess for that single share if you purchase). Do calculations first and then trade.

*Sometimes you may see sudden upwards and downwards of shares within a day or two. It is better to keep away from these even there is ability to make some quick profits, because many times that increased prices come down drastically before you think at once. So, better to keep away

*Now it is possible to trade any quantity of shares(before min qty is 100) so be careful when trade.
-Buy from ASK price
-Sell for bid price
-Or use stop limit orders.(Ask from your broker how to use it)
UNTIL SETTLE DOWN THESE ISSUES!!!!

*Trade on normal share (N0000 and X0000 - ex:COMB.N0000 and COMB.X0000 [commercial bank]) only till you get understand about other share types such as rights, warrents etc.

*Please record your transaction details often. it will help you for calculations and search for errors which may have made by your broker. Keep every letter sent by your broker after you do a trade. it is very important.

*You should have knowledge of the share that you gonna trade. I know new comers don't have such knowledge so ask from experienced person. You can ask from the forum by submitting a post in help section.

*Please use to be happy even you make a profit of 10 rupees. That's a extremely good habit and it will help you lot to be a successful trader or investor in the future.

*Don't be too greedy. That's one reason for getting losses.

*You should have a target. You should enter at the targeted time and you should exit at the targeted time.

**Don't buy on broker's credit(Debt). If you urgently want to do a trade even your account balance is insufficient, you can buy on credit but don't exceed the value that you cannot bear(That means buy only till the cash amount that you can put into your account).

That all to tell you ma friend for now!
Happy Trading!
All the best!

You are a good candidate for manipulaters and their promoters in broking houses which consists about 90% of whole broking community. I have a friend who invested for the first time invested Rs. 700,000/- in Greg and family thanks to "advice" of his broker, which is pure manipulation cum speculation and got out dissapointed with 200,000/- The broking company was Ce...co stock brokers. Now that broker is not even in the company!

98% means, this is the highest I give him as I dont believe anyone 100%. It doesnt mean that 2% he made me loss. So you cant say he isnt a good adviser without knowing anything. Cool

An adviser with a 80% track record of bringing profit is a good adviser.. If you invest 100000 and u earn 5000 with in about a months time that's 5% a month's achievement which is higher than the FD rate which could be ard 1% a month these days..
Few things to remember for new comers;

1) Relying on small profits is a good thing with tight stop losses.. Why we lose money is cuz of the greediness and wait till it passes our bearable loss limit hoping for an upward trend Wink

3) First be prepared to lose too, keep some amt that u can easily burn if ur trade goes wrong..

3) Have a medium term goal - say 4-6 months on an investment and always go for investments rather than trading till u get some idea..

4) Do some paper trading to test your decisions before u move in with trading with ur own money..

good luck..
