if you are new, unless you have professional advisers and excessive wealth, be on cash for a while.

I assume you are new to the CSE.

If you are thinking of investing Long term: GET IN slowly.
If you expect to make a Short term gain: STAY OUT. It's too risky at the moment.

Hi, I'm new to CSE as well. I've just made my first investments after doing some research as well as some tips from my broker.

However as your comment mentions above, I'd like to buy some long term stock, could you recommend me a few solid stock to take a look at?

Thanks Smile

I feel it's really good to start with small shares like Blue, Atl, Mull, Tess..

Current prices are very attractive as well.

yes, you mentioned as the long term. So, if you spend some money on these share you may have double money soon.

Blue is very interesting one, Keep watching you will be millionaire soon.
i tasted the blue several times. Even today.....

• Speculative Shares
When you are exploring the market and researching for share selection, do be wary of companies which lack financial
strength or track record in earnings and dividends but appear to be focused on delivering growth fast. If a company’s
publicized future growth is not supported by its fundamentals, they are high risk investments.

@shanoukdesilva: In the Research section, you will find Capital Trust's list of about 40 shares, which they describe as 'Best Buys'; all of them are fundamentally good.

You could use that list as a starting point and decide which of them to buy.

Thank you for the tips everyone.
I bought some shares in SHL, JINS and TILE last week.
Quite happy with all 3, however I want to start looking into seasonal stock like ODEL.

I have seen the research section, however when I try to open a document it says I do not have permission to do so Sad. Hopefully I can figure it out so I can do more research!
