May be artificial....broker firms wanted to relax broker credit rules. see what SR says
The monetary policy committee (MPC) of the CBSL decided this morning to keep the policy rates unchanged yet again signaling that the days of rising interest rates have finally come to an end. Market would breathe a sigh of relief that at least the interest rates have stopped rising and possibly may start coming down starting from the next MPC meeting (Wednesday 8th August) after the CBSL gets their hands on the last installment of the last tranche of the IMF facility pledged. Rupee should remain steady with large sums of foreign exchange scheduled to reach our shores (from bond issues and project investment inflows) during the remaining part of this month. SEC is scheduled to meet tomorrow and a decision would probably be taken on the net capital interpretation at this meeting .
