The world famous Kandy Esala Perehera begins with the Kumbal Perahera on 23rd July and attracts thousands of devotees from all parts of Sri Lanka together with numerous foreign visitors from different parts of the globe. It ends with the spectacular Randoli Perahera on 01st August. This is followed by the Day Perahera on 02nd August and then the traditional Water Cutting ceremony at Getambe.
