probably all those crossings made it worse
and even government institutions are selling

If we check last one year foreign sell very high continuously ..

Now a days local people have enough money to run CSE

it's nothing to do with suddha is better than us or anything. foreigners are selling means this market is not good for investing.

Well the Governemnt instituations need to realize profit at soem time. For Exam SLIC sold CFIN at heavy discount to the buyer. But for SLIC they have huge profits as they might have bought this when it was trading cheap few year ago.

Foreign selling was mainly in CINS today.

Selective and strategic foreign interest though remains, as seen in recent deals on LHCL and CTHR *(private placement).

I don't think government institutions are selling if anything they're buying. Especially EPF.

Foreigners selling doesn't mean that this market is bad at all ....they sell for different reasons....they probbably feel the CSE is too expensive and also they might be moving their investments in to commodities.... The market is mature enought to sustain it's self without substantial foreigners buying...even last year Suddas were net sellers.....It's time to move on Smile

...they will re enter in droves when the time is right......

Basically for an index to go up more money has to move in. Vast amounts of foreign selling takes money away from the index and it might not come back. That is a concern. On the other hand we do have more and more locals opening cdax accounts and more and more local bussiness men investing in the bourse. Hopefully this will be enough to negate the net foreign selling.

Let's give this a positive spin:
Massive Foreign Selling = Massive Domestic Buying
That is great news because we know Sri Lankan companies better than they do.

If you have been buying into companies with solid fundamentals, there is no reason to worry. Just ensure that what you are buying is worth what you are paying for it. And keep some funds aside for next week - just in case some opportunities present themselves...

There was more foreign buying few days ago, some long term foreign investments take profits time to time then there is more selling. There were times foreigners were buying when there was an issue of force selling. Buying and selling is a normal variation in a stock market. Some of the local investors who collected during last week were also selling for profits. I also sold few long term investments and bought some medium term sophisticated shares. Overall there was more buying interest today. It is not easy to draw any conclusions by looking at events in one or two days. Foreign buying is also goingon on a daily basis.

Yes agreed with you slstock. SLIC had been disposing CFIN shares for sometimes ( small quantities). This is the main reason why CFIN has not moved significantly in last 3,4 months. But in the same time I'm pretty sure that SLIC made huge profit on this deal.

(Even I bought this share for Rs 420.00 about 7months ago and sold Rs960.00 recently. So imagine for what price SLIC bought these few years back?)

I would not be surprised if EPF sell (I dont think) HNB shares tomorrow Because they bought a large chunk for Rs 180.00 about a year ago. This situation is same for any institute.

Why we can see some many foreign funds trying to exit from CSE? They already made enough profit (not the only reason anyway).

We all here to make profits in our own time frames.

EPF consolidated thier HNB hold last october by buying alot from BRWN. I doubt they'll dispose of them
