Sri Lanka’s Central Bank says transferring of funds from Non-Resident Foreign Currency Accounts would be freely permitted.

The Bank says, this is keeping in line with the recently relaxed regulation which facilitates the transfer of funds between and among foreign currency accounts including foreign currency investments abroad.

Issuing a statement, the Central Bank says that necessary directions have been issued to Authorized Dealers making abundantly clear that any outward remittance by Non-Resident Foreign Currency Account holders would be freely permitted.

The bank says, therefore, any concerns over the free transferability of NRFC funds should no longer arise.
