Sunil S. Sirisena will resume duties as the new Chairman of state-owned National Savings Bank (NSB) from next Monday, August 13.

A retired senior official of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, Sirisena held several important positions such as Secretary to the ministries of Education, Cooperatives and Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare. Prior to his retirement, he was the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.

The former Chairman of NSB, and the entire board of directors, resigned over the NSB-TFC fiasco earlier this year.
