The Minister added that when importing oil, they hoped to call for tenders and follow the normal tender procedure and to limit the instant purchase of fuel as much as possible.
He went on to say that any oil refinery in the world needed to undergo maintenance once in every two years and that this usually takes around five to six weeks.
Meanwhile, Minister Premajayantha said that he has to look into the committee report to take a decision to grant compensation to the vehicles that have been damaged due to the use of substandard diesel.
