We got a very dry year this time after a decade of wet and moderate years.

After this extreme, naturally we will get wet years in consequent years.

Based on this assumption and with US$ is @ around 133 ,

I hope we can get better dividends in future.
2012 - 0.05
2013 0.10
2014 0.20
2015 - 0.25 - 0.30

Weak Tea and rubber prices hit FLCH profit. Also the wage issue. Yet they have declared 100% dividend. I also estimate 2013 EPS to be Rs 0.25 -0.30. Not sure how the $$ effect is. Also there could be a Timber stock revaluation again. If both are positive FLCH and share holder might see a happy increase in NAV also.

A penny stock with a future with their expansions into other sectors ( Hydro pwoer, property , tourism ) It should lessen their dependency on plantations.

Further to the above , if Tea rubber prices increase then FLCH profits can be more. Am considering the present trend only.

Me too.

We cannot tell what will be the inflow from hydro power projects come in to production in the near future. I think moderate rain is the best for FLCH. If heavy & year spread rain CEB have their own places to generate. Heavy rain will affect tea plucking also.

BTW, they still have near 3/4 billion LKR in cash. I am happy if they divert from hotels and go for a solar power farm :-) my rough calc tell me they can earn 200 million per year if ECB give a rate as suggested for others at the moment.

This hotel thing is over blown by many groups. ALso the investment will be stuck for awhile.

But if I recall think they wanted to convert some of the estate bunglows to boutique like hotels was it? Might be quicker and not that costly compared ***** class.

They should start looking at quicker sustainabl revenue/profit. Their property development project also must be nearing gaining additional revenue.

Whether odd lot system or current system, sending a cheque for 5 cents is not going to change.

Guys most of the small caps moved atleast 10% yesterday to today before they came down due to profit taking.

FLCH did not move much. Also notice their subsidary HPFL is under a small collection. Also about 2.8 Million shares of FLCH traded at 2.20 today. Related BIL also had a run.

This is not a buy recommendation.

But best to watch FLCH also. Maybe it can gain 10% if condition are right! But not sure when exactly it will move. Someone need to buy few million shares and some big orders have to come to move this.
Also there is a 5 cent dividend due.

Last thursday FLCH traded at 2.5 so the share gained 15% from the time of the the post above ( within a week).

Now people will say it is manipulated, but still note (like some other shares) it is still trading 50% under IPO , about estimated forward PE about 8-9 and about 55% NAV. Note certain kind of plantation based companies ( FLCH also has diversifying plans) has some hidden aspects which some positive news can make an impact ( now am not talking about Tea and Rubber price recoveries)

did you notice the last 15 mints buying pressure on last trading date, it was 15mn. for me it is at good price to collect, i am not recommending but it is the truth. Any way plantation sector shows a good results in the last qtr, will it not be a good sign for FLCH & BIL ????

Yep.. Still trading below .....

FLCH was among the last IPOs successfully completed before the start of the downfall.

During past 15 months it slide from around 7 to very unrealistic 1.60.
Apart from other common factors, over-liquidity was its biggest problem.

Almost all the retailers applied for it and got their quota at IPO which
was launched at high fly period. Then many shareholders got cash
problems, forced to sell this share at various levels.

By now, many big quantities could be in long term deposits targeting a good value for this share in 1 or 2 years.

If so, the new shareholders who has no hurry to make them cash , may
not rush to sell in big quantities for little profit. This will help the
share to gain value in a continuous way for a long period.
This is in opposite to its downward journey we saw during past many months.
If it managed to sustain this for some months, new positive news may
give it further boost to get into a stable level as SLSTOCK pointed out.

Note: This is just an observation, not a buy recommendation.
