Market heavyweight JKH again emerged as the top contributor as a result of healthy accumulation on the counter. It witnessed heavy buying around Rs.198 and closed the day at Rs.198 pumping 52.2mn towards the day’s tally. PCHH was the 2nd largest contributor towards the turnover as a result of a block of 8,478,767 shares changing hands at Rs.5.90. LION continued its dominance at the bourse and saw a an off the market deal worth 23mn. The counter saw 100,000 shares change hands at Rs.230 and traded another 36,825,924 shares on the normal board.
The market witnessed renewed interest on selected counters mainly on the back of retail and high net worth buying. Caps such as PMB,SAMP and COMB saw attractive volumes trade during the day. Midcap NTB gained 5.05% to close at Rs.52.10 after trading over 200K shares for the day.
Retail activity also witnessed a change in momentum during the final half hour as most retailers were seen buying aggressively into their favourites. Caps CFVF,CSEC and JINS recorded marginal gains and traded attractive volumes during the day. The 3 caps gained 19.79%,8.42% and 4.08% respectively. RICH also gained an impressive 6.85% during the day after trading over 1.5mn shares. YORK extended its rally and closed at Rs.21 gaining 9.95%. Further, caps such as PAP.SEMB and LGL.X topped retail volumes whilst CFVF emerged as the top gainer.
