Auditor General R.H.S. Samaraweera said that documentation of these dealings have been received.
’’We have deployed about twelve officials under the supervision of the Deputy Auditor General. They will conduct investigations covering all areas from the registration of suppliers to the distribution of fuel.’’
’’The investigations will be conducted over a span of one year. We are hoping to forward an investigation report to the parliament in a few months. The aim of the investigation is not to restrict it to where problems arose but to cover the whole system,’’ stated Auditor General R.H.S. Samaraweera
The Auditor General’s Department commenced an investigation, after the Committee on Public Enterprises or COPE ordered an investigation into dealings at the CPC over the past year.
