Sri Lanka’s E-Channelling PLC, a medical service provider is planning to launch its electronic doctor appointment service in both Asia and the Middle Eastern region.
“The company is actively looking at opportunities in Asia and the Middle East”, the Chairman of the E-Channelling PLC, P. Kudabalage said in the firm’s latest annual report.
He expects the move into the global market place will help bring in immediate revenues to the firm in the longer run.
According to the Company’s Vice Chairman Ruwan Silva, the global potential for the group is quite positive.
“Currently we are exploring the possibility of replicating the e-channelling solution in a few selected countries” he added in his review made to the annual report.
ECL, which operates an internet based doctor appointment service for clients, is also working on introducing various related services via its subsidiary ECL Soft.
The new Doctor Notification product which is now being tested in many hospitals is designed to reduce the time spent by patients waiting for doctors at hospitals.
ECL group’s net profit during the year 2011/2012 has seen a 999% growth over the previous year with a 42% revenue increase.
During the year 2011/2012 financial year, doctor appointments made via E-Channelling has increased by 26% year on year thus taking the total number of appointments to 650,000.
