The first commission meeting of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with SEC's new Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa is scheduled to be held on Friday afternoon, according to sources close to SEC.

They said that it's likely that it will start around 2.30 pm. Dr. Godahewa, who is also chairman of another company where share trades are being investigated, has assured staff that they have a ‘free hand’ in continuing the probes initiated since 2010. (DEC)

I do not think that there will be major policy decisions tomorrow but they are likely to take stock of current situation and discuss future direction. So far new chairman has shown that he is not acting like a bull in the China shop ( Preivios Chairman was slightly different though Very Happy ). According to Daily FT last monday he has told SEC staff that major policy decision will only be taken after consulting all stakeholders. I hope he will live up to the promise and put a stop to SEC's culture of sending unlilateral directives after each commission meeting.
