Coinciding with the presence of an official team from the Government for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting, the Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan in partnership with principal shareholder of New World Securities and Japanese investor T. Igarashi, along with Japan’s A2 Media, will hold a Sri Lanka Investment Promotion seminar in Tokyo on 11 October.

Senior Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama will be the Chief Guest whilst Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal will be the Guest of Honour at the seminar, for which around 100 prospective investors have confirmed participation.

There will presentations by SEC Director Capital Market Development and Research Vajira Wijegunawardena and Ceybank Unit Trust Chairman K.L. Hewage as well as other members of the private sector/investor delegation, Expolanka Holdings Group CEO Haniff Yoosuf, Pan Asia Bank Chairman Managing Director Nimal Perera, Citrus Leisure Director Dilith Jayaweera, Royal Ceramics Director Tharana Thoradeniya and MAC Holdings Chairman Andre Fernando. They will also hold meetings with prospective investors.

The initiative by New World Securities is the second with the inaugural investment promotion seminar successfully held in Tokyo in December last year.

Thare can be some attractive news from the companies that are related to participants. Better to watch.

Not related at all. This is a different forum to be held on tomorrow on the side lines of IMF-World bank annual sessions. But seem to be privately organized for a selected set of companies.
