It's very important that professors and pundits should have fights and debates in a public forum. Then the rest of us can stand back and learn something.
Someone being called uncouth, discourteous, rude is a serious insult and it calls for a response.
Due to this SLEF professor on professor violence FUTA might call for another strike.

Animosities can be one sided issues as some display.

But even those who does not have animosity in heart is attacked Unjustifiably, by characters who tries to show they know everythign and show superiorty anyone will **** will retaliate . Reasonable arguments are welcome and accepted. Extracting one word from a sentence and using it to their benefit will not be tolerated. Anyone including you will react if so.

It is amazinlg how certain parties make merry when we see some continous red days. I guess more fun is to come if so.

BTW, I do not judge a person by his Degrees or designation. Degrees are piece of paper.

I judge people by their knowledge, their behaviour, their attitudes and their ethics and most importantly their humbleness to listen/comprehend and learn.

Some people without degress are 10 time smarter in a mundane way than some "professors" I have seen. All profession are need to make a society function. Nobody is superior to others in designation in my mind as we all serve a purpose in life. BTW a Professor can be someone who is learned enough in aspects i mentioned but who does not have a degree in my mind.

We are all here to learn. No professors or pundits here.

There are only two options, red or green.. up or down.

if somebody says market will be down, he is not an exceptional forcaster, just one among 50%.

I do agree with you. Most of the professors in our country are not creative. They just say what they have been tought. And they do not think.(I am not talking about all the professors...there are few who do some productive things.)

Sometime eventhough they have not got any degree some village folks are very creative.Sometimes it is realy interesting to see how they overcome their problems using local methods.

When it becomes 50% * 50% *50% 50% that becomes 6.5% chance of becoming wrong and on the other side of the spectrum for some it is 6.25% chance of being right.

Some of us are getting fed up with people like you who cannot understand Simple Concepts between short term and long term and always try to highlight their personal strategy as the one and only for all.

Picking only words of part of sentence and using it to their personal benefit is not done. Read the whole post/s and then comment. If one tries to abuse and insult others, atleast have the decency to read the whole context the paragraph and then comment without picking words here and there.

Not everyone here is a short term trader. If you don;t like a post just ignore without thread crapping. Everybody has a right state their views in a decent way.

If CSE becomes a trader heaven like your strategy god help CSE to sustain in down trends. Everybody will sell out at the slightest pin drop and there will be no buyers. Who will but then. Thank goodness there are top 20 holder and Investors with ethics to not desert CSE and companies like changing pillows just because in the short term something goes wrong. When market goes up all these people vanish as they make use of it. Down trend is when they emerge.

But as a retailer one if free to choose their best stategy to suit their mentality. Short term trading , medium/long term investment.

Some of us follow all 3. It is our freedom. Kindly do not come here occasionally when market is Red and try to pick words here and there and show your superiority. Personal issue that you may seem to individually have is not entertained.

we got a taste of you below

I have been trying to talk sense to you for years now. PMs, polite requests , nothign works .

When certain seniors really took on to you I even defended you . Then you decided to stay way from the forum to your fancy, Suddenly you come back and tart the same slandeing process. You never learn. You are just the same person who does not respect others views. So I also have lost respect for oyu.

However I do admit that you state logical thigns at times. For those I appreciate.

I open this tread to understand memebers mind set, but it went in a umexpected path. Because of that I (we) understood one person's mindset. Anyway there are plenty of things to learn from this.
Thank you sls, you have posted great threads in this forum, which helped a lot for us. True you and some are told that the market need a correction since it is overbought. Now it is happening... But it seems it is heading for over correction. Because of panic and may be manipulation.
Sls... Do not worry about those kind of ppl. Keep up the good work you do.
Dear members, one thing I can say, market is heading again to over correction unless happen any strange thing. Therefore do not buy on credit. This is a good lesson for who are trading with lots of credit. If play on credit, go with a control, which you can handle when mrkt turn red.

Yep this people are talking nonsense. some dont kw hw to build a good argument with out attacking others. They are very immature. Even cant understand what promotion is. And who the hell think that we can promote a share through this forum. We need big brokers to promote a share. Any way,,,,,,

There are people who said that mkt will never have a bull when ASI was around 4800. They talked nonsense and blamed every body in the forum who wanted to say CSE is undervalued. After having a 1000 points bull run the same fellow again blame every body saying nonsense . I dont wt to do friends. Please dont disturb others and respect every body. This may be the last time i comment on a horrible arguments Like this where people attack.

Thanks opfdo to open this thread.
A. Few things i would like to mention here
1. Are we witnessing badly given credit, now clearing by famous STBs ? - Yes, I agree.
2. Panic selling combined with blue chip profit taking ? - 50% , 50%
3. .......ppl are collecting by forcelly down the market through force selling, since now they can sell any time. - That i'm not sure. but yes few counters we can witness this.

B. @SLS - I don't think you have to "justify" yourself or repeatedly explain over meaningless argument. We all know you have done a good job in advice and sharing your thoughts on behalf of forum members. I am thanking for your effort.

C. What i think is market will be green today due to over correction has happened yesterday. But if market continue on red, That will be a problem.

Well ppl should buy on dips.. where else they should buy? Every time the market go down all the fundas also go down and if you have the capacity u should collect slowly.. Ppl dont keep cash in hand, they have to borrow/withdraw from banks, wait till the salary is received to buy their favorite counters..
Then u should buy when u have money..

When u buy a fundamentally good counter, due to dull market conditions, it can further lose ground and say the counter you buy a week back is 10 rupees low today.. So is it the end of the world?
But what's wrong in buying for long term merits in mind?

Many ppl dont have time to monitor the market everyday.. Some cannot login to their accounts even in office environment. So for those ppl a med-long term portfolio with shares bought at a certain dip may still valid to hold.
Some ppl I know still have KGAL shares bought at 140, NAMU @ 60s, LWL @ 100 or so holding with the belief that these companies would do shine in future..

I hope one day u realize that when you point fingers at 4 ppl time to time, 3 fingers pointed back at you 4 times...
Which means if u try to prove one person is wrong, 3 ppl will try to prove u wrong..
But then again many of us dont have the time to dig in to graves.. Its a waste of time and energy.. Also its a waste of time of the forum readers too
If one person particularly trying to promote some shares they bought high with 1000 inspirational talks, I believe we should do that for the benefit of others but other than that I dont find a reason why or how we would benefit from any personal grudges or mud campaigns..

@Rajitha wrote: What people should really get fed up with promoters promoting shares at peak when they can buy the same share more than 50% less if they buy at the right time In this forum long term is all the experts speak a they buy at peak always and for them buying at Rs1000 and selling at rs 1100 after 10 years is a great strategy Very Happy Very Happy :

Yesterday market went down more than 1%, so capitalizing on that u could even sell when it topped .5% today.. But that's a trade...

And some ppl prefer to hold on to their shares 2-3 years.. If they know the values of the company and how rosy the future could be they dont buy shares @ 500 and sell at 800.. Cuz when u sell at 800, it might not even come there again then ur buying at a higher value..

Also markets go on psychological cycles.. So there is a chance in next cycle for everyone..

If a person is successful doing day-trading, they should continue it.. If a person is successful in med-long term holding, they should continue it.. One wise thing in long term holds is that a person checks his/her profile once is a while to see whether there are selling opportunities in between.. i.e. Just like the millionaire made by BFL stories we hear.. Though the story was a bit fabricated, there's something to learn from it..
Buy and sell at correct times and buy back on pull backs..

I think, all these personal level arguments should end. If you are attacked personally, please remain silent, without trying to prove you are right and the other one is wrong. If you really have to, answer the logical points only; never get involved in an argument. You achieve nothing at the end other than the satisfaction that you retaliated; that itself gets you nowhere. Please contribute to productive discussions.

Until it happens to you and you are dragged into unjustifiable attacks from no where Silence is golden. But remember everyone has a limit to be silent . If one has B___ they can;t stay silent for ever if certain people behave in extreme ways. We need some honor code here and decorum.

Kindly understand some of us are wasting time here thinking to do social service . In June july this forum was almost dying. Some of us stuck here through thick and thin and tried to help the society with genuine intention.

The least courtesy we expect from people is to behave fair and decently and not accuse wrongly . Many would benefit silently from analysis we do but fail to thank. But they will readily accuse. That is human nature. But now do we have to stand for attacks also.
If one has issues , prove with facts . Not with nonsense. Lot of of people are here to get benefit but not stand up for what is wrong.

Ethics in Sri Lanka is at lows. If we want to develop this country some serious adjustment in Ethic and Attitude has to come. Other member of the forum also need to realize this. This forum is small society. We can start here.

Are we here only to make money by some hook or crook? Do we not have social responsibilty. Even in investing should follow ethics. Good money earned will last longer ( Ican;t prove this). What I am saying is all related to CSE and our country as far as I can see, That why I mentioned all this.

Be deent humans. Be decent investors. Be fair people. And life will treat you better in the longer run.

OH yes.. The ppl who had seen hell has nothing to fear..

Many pundits vanished during the extreme bear period.. God knows what happened to their so called 'expert' comments on market and counters..
Then when ASI see a bit of green they come here and again start showing some attitude..

Well we cant correct ppl, that's even not the purpose we hear..
We should only honestly think they would correct their selves in due course..

Well said SLS. I have noticed deliberate low level targeting of seniors the in the recent past and add to that a teenage mutant ninja analyst. I started following the forum in Jan 2011 an utter novice. Thanks to you guys I have learned much and earned some. Also endorse experts strategy in dealing with the idiots.
