OH yes.. The ppl who had seen hell has nothing to fear..

Many pundits vanished during the extreme bear period.. God knows what happened to their so called 'expert' comments on market and counters..
Then when ASI see a bit of green they come here and again start showing some attitude..

Well we cant correct ppl, that's even not the purpose we hear..
We should only honestly think they would correct their selves in due course..

Lecturers or not there are professionals in various fields here... Some shows a real character deformations that shame the breed even..

Well said SLS. I have noticed deliberate low level targeting of seniors the in the recent past and add to that a teenage mutant ninja analyst. I started following the forum in Jan 2011 an utter novice. Thanks to you guys I have learned much and earned some. Also endorse experts strategy in dealing with the idiots.

he has entered to the market in October 2010 (He has stated some time ago), which means he has entered to the market when it was almost at peak. He must be either lucky or well talented to identify the top and bottom, though he as only 2 years experience in CSE. I can remember, he was expecting DIMO to reach Rs 3000/-. But finally what happened? You can predict the market some time, but you can't be correct always.

Actually I entered market in end of 2010 as monster stated and anyway and you can't be come a billionaire overnight! AS I have mentioned I posted here go check always the top when to sell and cash out for who ever was interested. They all became true.(As always mainly those days when whole forum was against me) Also for you info I have had over 2 offers last year to invest their cash on behalf of them and I will get 20% of the profit. One was a moderator or admin or something here. Just saying.

Also No one make 100% correct predictions. But it matters if you can get most of them right and to make it count for the once you do! I did make good cash out of plantation stocks even if ASI was over 7k. But yes I did make a mistake with DIMO and I' still averaging and holding those stuff. Those are the 30% portfolios I did not sell out this time. BTW one reason I got in trouble with those junk is because of the advice from seniors here opinion here! I was naive then and believed the market is run on EPS and PE ratios and PBV lol! lol!

PS:- Lucky or not, I have posted most shares I have purchased and even posted my share lists many times. I have invested most of my cash at market peaks (7000+) and still with over 30% profit!

Hello everyone,

Isnt it better to let others know your inestment method if you want to disclose so that everyone will learn fron it and apply if found within your scope. Also we will know whether the person is genuin or not.

Now to value investing to correct what is said above. I have been in the market for a little long now , but lets take the year that was mentioned. I consuntrated on 2. CTC/CTEA as I thought one was a monopoly and the otger a very good brand. Stated collecting when ever I had funds. PE was a bit high but forward PE and potential was great. Most importantly the cash in the busineess was good. And also the shareholding was tight with little public partcipation. Now this is some of the criteria used by me.

I did not loose one has appreciated close to 100% with rich divident the other has not done so well the appreciation in total has been about 17% as i have collected some at top also due to un availabilty.

Lets not waste time arguing this is a good forum with lot of genuine contributors lets make sure we use every ones knowledge to invest wisely and do not get caught to scam artists.

Well I remember that there were ppl who praised u while many defied u.. There primary reason for that was u were always looking for drawing daggers and humiliate members rather than putting a constructive argument on the table.. Ppl had to poke u many a time to get a good argument based feedback.

I've had many offers to manage portfolios but only accepted the first one.. Got another one recently and accepted promising only gains after 6 months as I've no time managing my portfolio in
short term due to office projects.
Just saying.. Cool

Oops.. u believed what seniors told? I doubt that friend... The reason is u've always been the black sheep of the forum arguing with seniors and cursing, bad mouthing them without proving your facts correctly.. U never had the patience to talk to anyone respectfully. Being an academic, I wonder many a time how ur students cope up with u for that matter.. May be ur maintaining a Jekyll and Hyde type of a character Twisted Evil

DIMO was never a junk.. its a fundamental play but it also got caught to the bear and suffered like the rest of the shares.. There could be practically a single share which has not come down the bear period.. DIMO being a share worth ard 2000, traded below 1600 at that time but never got the chance to go near 2000 getting caught to the ASI peak..

Market is not always run on the fundamental factors, only sophisticated investors look for EPS, PBV factors when taking decisions now adays.. Many are after short term gains buying on red days and selling on green days for little profit..

I also entered plantations mostly after ur insights though greedy has shown the potential with KGAL, that made me do my home work to see the profitability structures in place. I did a mistake not selling at peaks and so got little profit..

But unlike u who stayed away from forum for most in the bear period, there are members who went thick and thin with member here, advising them, sharing their stories of the bad investments and supporting the members as much as they could to get out of the misery.

I feel guilty for not expressing my views on this important debate where intellectuals are involved. Once, I thought the subject matter was beyond me so better be silent.

However, smallville has, very diligently, clarified it for the bebefit of all concerned with which I agree totally.

I remember how a few, including slstock & small encouraged members in order to keep the forum alive when there were only few members during the dip.

I hope Rajitha would take the comments of small as a constructive contribution from Admin and begin to appreciate the Good work done by them during hard times. Attacking a prominent member of admin would only be selfserving & counter productive. It wan't do any good to any one, including you.

I feel you have some skills very usefull to members here and we do not wan't to keep you out of the forum.

Hence, I urge you to appreciate what they have done even belatedly. If you can do that bit, at least now, you would not only make a usefull contributor to the forum but also a popular one like small & slstock.

Good Luck!

i have been reading your posts for sometime now. but you are always writing in past tense. i told that, i told this. this member said this this member said that. i think people here not very interested in history and past events. in stock market everything changing constantly. so its not fair to critisize members for something they said about a share or market direction 1-2 years ago. somtimes only when you look back are things very clear. it seems you have good ability to forecast things, market timings, ideal stocks when to buy and sell. now its time to walk your talk. can you tell us market direction for rest of oct, nov, dec, in 2013 and beyong. will market be red or green. what are your predictions for market index when to buy and when to sell. shall we hold or sell at current prices. what are you best stocks. no point unnecesarily critising others with little sarcasm also always. sometimes that sign of ego issues. some people here also worried about market direction and timing. so put your cards on table and give us solutions and not be part of problem always.
I am thanking you in advance.

People, who post their transactions here to show their superior knowledge or how smart they are, show only transactions that gave profits. I’ve never seen a transaction that made losses to them. You may see their success rate as 100% lol!

Other thing, a small scale investor having 4-5 lacks portfolio and trading 2000-3000 shares can easily exit and re-enter at any time which is not the case for many people having medium to large scale portfolio.

Until it happens to you and you are dragged into unjustifiable attacks from no where Silence is golden. But remember everyone has a limit to be silent . If one has B___ they can;t stay silent for ever if certain people behave in extreme ways. We need some honor code here and decorum.

Kindly understand some of us are wasting time here thinking to do social service . In June july this forum was almost dying. Some of us stuck here through thick and thin and tried to help the society with genuine intention.

The least courtesy we expect from people is to behave fair and decently and not accuse wrongly . Many would benefit silently from analysis we do but fail to thank. But they will readily accuse. That is human nature. But now do we have to stand for attacks also.
If one has issues , prove with facts . Not with nonsense. Lot of of people are here to get benefit but not stand up for what is wrong.

Ethics in Sri Lanka is at lows. If we want to develop this country some serious adjustment in Ethic and Attitude has to come. Other member of the forum also need to realize this. This forum is small society. We can start here.

Are we here only to make money by some hook or crook? Do we not have social responsibilty. Even in investing should follow ethics. Good money earned will last longer ( Ican;t prove this). What I am saying is all related to CSE and our country as far as I can see, That why I mentioned all this.

Be deent humans. Be decent investors. Be fair people. And life will treat you better in the longer run.

Dear Sir..
I as a long term loyalty member to Equity Forum, admire you and your contribution to the forum. No need explanations to that. Many times I saw You wasting your valuable time in unnecessary arguments. That is why I agree with Expert.
Good Luck

I am in total agreement too, SLSTOCK has contributed to this forum in a positive manner and many would have profited from his advise and analysis. I did and I thank you very much for your contributions in educating the forum.

IT is funny how some people think you can deduce a persons character from how he posts in a forum for entertainment lol! BTW for smallville and others comments about me attitude from start, go read how I posted in the forum first few months and see if you can find a difference or not!

Also as as some people have asked I have already said many times what to do! Go read those posts as well! I told when I'm expecting to sell when when I sold and, not in 2 sided words like forum admins here ! Aso last week even I said where I think market will be headed! So you guys had enough time to read and get info if u really wanted!

Also I posted my whole transaction list not just 1 or 2 share list as well! OFC I have posted 1 shares gains that was to illustrate a point how shares no one predict can get over 100% gain in few months!

Wonderful the lecturers vs professors battle continues. Very Happy

The lecturers was insulted as an uncouth deformed character while the professors were insulted as 2 sided.

Reading the posts it seems that the forum is full of pundits and expert stock picker billionaires. How lucky we are!

Although it does seem that character deformities and backgrounds can be deduced from forum posts.

U keep on telling us go read those posts and bla bla in every other post of yours.. where I see nobody is interested in doing so Laughing So if you like, u can bring those and prove u've been correct at most times or u just tried to show ur superior knowledge..

Actually ur come back saw an attitude adjustment but later on inherited those bad roots again for our utter dismay... So is there any difference? scratch

@Rajitha wrote:I told when I'm expecting to sell when when I sold and, not in 2 sided words like forum admins here !

So u sold and told us to sell after how many days? Laughing

Dont mis-lead dude.. Forum admins talk with responsibility in mind.. Its u that dont have the head of a lady bird to understand investment strategies of different ppl.. its you if I recall did the pundit work and asked the ppl to buy plantations at top..

point your finger at someone, three pointed back at you and one up too lol!

The irony is; I see that u've some skill but u dont wanna share it but have been busy talking abt ur past.. And if somebody questions u, u come back like a mad dog and throw words at every direction hoping something will hit so the idea of a constructive argument is lost at the point u start calling names and ur past posts..

For a change, can you tell us some good shares so that all of us can discuss if not evaluate..

Jiggysarus, I am Slstock and not a Professor. We are also here to share/give/learn . ( until we might have to stop)

There are no pundits here as they would have/will make mistakes at some point. No one is perfect though we try to portray ourselves so for "personal reasons".

However there might be some "knowledgeable and experienced" people here who has a broader mind to view what other won;t see. They might be able to prepare for the future and not only live in the present.

All people are not dumb to the contrary some deduce. Even if they get "caught" in short term Most will not in the long term. Experience and time is the factor.

But we need to remember ones attitude, background and mindset can be gathered from what one writes. So members take what is necessary and discard the rest. This topic which was dragged to a battle by some gave rise to talk about ethics, attitude, decency which is also important other than making money. That is something positive.

We should not try to outsmart or predict the market all the times. Though we may here and there win, ultimately market will behave the way it wants. There is no reason to harp on it and show superiorty. Math numbers , indices are there to be broken( negative or postive.)
Don;t look at index always. Index is a guideline. Go beyond and look at the companies. It the companies you INVEST in ( unless you are a short term trader who portray to be Investors. Realise it is not the same)

Presume the comments here have made many smarter with about not only CSE but about people and attitudes and investment goals and ethics

Good luck .
