Is force selling/credit clearing still in progress or some other factors playing a role?

Any comments?

that's a misconception people who haven't really seen the holidays people in the developed countries get. foreigners have more holidays that we do. they get weeks and months as vacation while our vacation is merely days.

but the funny thing is companies and institutions are still working. so whose really running the CSE? school students?

no really, for companies i worked for our parent companies were in europe. in the summer time we can't find anybody in the parent offices. everybody is climbing mountains or have gone to sea. once we were given a holiday because the head office network was inaccessible and all the system personnel were on vacation. same in xmas time. Smile

Exactly summer most people take their anual leave or In December ...Here we are on holiday 12 months a year so even if you take the number prouductive days lost taking your example it will be during summer and december ...Here we have various holidays (I love them Smile....but if we are to be competitive and move forward in a short time we will have to work harder... For eg Budhist Holidays every one else is on leave Christian, Hindu and Muslim every one else is on leave why cant we have only the people celebrating that particular holiday on leave .....this is why in devolped countries it works differently ....when one applies for leave some one else has to cover.....Smile

Just imagine the cost of employing a employee on a public holiday.
Normally in UK, even supermarkets pay 3 times the normal pay and a extra day off if someone is willing to work on that day. But in SL ppl are enjoying the summer holidays 365 days. atleast 2 holidays per month....

True Chamith. + rep from me.
UK gets only 8-9 public holidays luckily we get one addtional day off this year for the Royal wedding ( Prince Williams wedding).

In SIRI LANKA..people have at least 25 days as public holidays. But some people still think this is not enough..!!!! Shocked

Most of the countries in the world do not have more than 15 public holidays per year.

When I was working I worked according to this. I got my leave only on Buddhist holidays. Otherwise I worked even on Sundays and Some times I had to work on Poya days. Some people never cared about others.

This is why still we cant come out from the this tag "3 world country".

I guess nobody wants to except the bitter truth. First it was credit clearance, everyone said market will have bull run from April. guess what it was only up oneday (other days, thanks to illiquid shares going up). Now everyone wants to beleive it's because of Holiday season and market will be up from MAY. Guess what it's the other 50% credit clearance could be the reason for market down for May and June.

The way I see is that most of the counters are still below January prices and continueing to go down. The market was green because of illiquid shares going up. Foreign selling increased, I really dont understand. Doesn't look good.

If you are new to the market, dont burn your fingers, use wait and see approach.

I really pray that things would be back to normal.

Agree... All are saying this is the reason and that will be the reason. But nothing happened after end of march. Market still red except few stocks... No

Most of the countries in the world do not have more than 15 public holidays per year.

In Sweden you get 5 weeks of annual leave, 16 weeks of parental leave even for a father. That is extra after public holidays. Also for each year worked you get a week or so extra. Smile

7360 is a good support for ASI. There was a rebound from that level today. If ASI breaks 7360, I expect ASI to go down till it hits 7320-7330 range before we see a turn around.
