CSE Holidays - observationTuesday, January 1, 2013 11:51 AM

Attn. Dr.Nalaka Godahewa
i am small investor doing on-line trading based in Singapore. i am concerned of number of holidays in SL as well as limited trading hrs offered by CSE. Last year Singapore and Hong kong stock exchanges extended trading time cutting down lunch break. As SL already inundated with numerous holidays, it is difficult for me to understand how CSE declared 01 Jan as a holiday.
As you being from corporate sector and believe productivity, i earnestly appeal to you to remove this holiday as a proactive step and thereafter extend the trading times atleast by 30 mts to give proper direction to market.
happy new year

keep us posted on this wish you had advised him of the other holidays as well, such as poyas etc.
we can have the sinhala /tamil newyear holidays, wesak holidays, pongal, prophet mohamed birthday, christmas only as official holidays.
rest can be removed know....
Majority of this country is buddhist. So Poyadays has to be official holidays.Development of this country or for that matter any other country does not lie on number of holidays but mainly on attitude of the people.traderathome wrote:well done npp.....
