According to the founder of your cult, the poor girl has more chance of going to hell.
http://www.answering-islam.org/Women/in-hell.html

Your system/cult was designed for a bunch of bronze age arab tribesman so it ends up condoning slavery, child abuse and genocide. Would the real magic man in the sky design a system based on slavery, child brides and oppression of women?

Poor Rizana was killed by the teachings of your religion.

Anyway i dont want to insult your belief system (everyone is intitled to their delusions) and i'll end my posts on this thread, but try and read the history/creation of your religion (it might open your eyes).

We should not argue on religious matters. I think main idea of most of the religions is make better humans. So the main goal is usually pure but there are cntroversies among the methods described to achieve that goal.....it might be due to already existed culture(before that religion was founded) or/and due to geographical, environmental causes.
On the other hand greedy powerful people manipulate the religion for their benefits.
So imo most of the relogions are good at the basic levels. So we should not argue about religions but should critisize actions done manipulating or undercover of religion.

US raise serious concerns over impeachment, remains mum over Rizana beheading
The US on Thursday expressed serious concern over the impeachment proceedings against Sri Lanka’s first woman Chief Justice. However the US State Department spokesman did not comment on the beheading of Lankan maid Rizana Nafeek in Saudi Arabia adding that, “I will check with our folks and see if we have any views to share.”

On a question regarding the impeachment State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters, “s we said before, we had serious concerns about the actions that were taken to impeach the Chief Justice and the timing of the impeachment and that it raised serious questions about the process and government pressure on the judiciary,”

Excerpt from State Department Press Briefing;

QUESTION: (Inaudible) Sri Lanka.

MS. NULAND: Yeah.

QUESTION: A Sri Lankan maid was beheaded in Saudi Arabia this week for killing a baby in 2005. There are lots of human rights bodies which are opposing this. How do you see this beheading of a Sri Lankan maid in Saudi Arabia?

MS. NULAND: I don’t have anything on that one way or the other, Lalit. I will check with our folks and see if we have any views to share.

QUESTION: And on the continued impeachment of the Sri Lankan chief justice, now there’s a confrontation between the Sri Lankan parliament and the court, supreme court. One of the courts have said it’s – the decision taken by Sri Lankan parliament is not valid. How do you see this ongoing confrontation between the various wings of the government?

MS. NULAND: Well, I understand the parliament is just back from recess and we are, as we said before, we had serious concerns about the actions that were taken to impeach the chief justice and the timing of the impeachment, and that it raised serious questions about the process and government pressure on the judiciary. With regard to what’s been happening today with the parliament back in session, let me see if we have any further comment for you, Lalit

Hanoifortune wrote:This is nothing to do with Islam. It is all about country law created by Saud familiy and being protected by 27000 strong clans.

anyway, we have resepct to thier law.

Here I do not want to talk about the origin of the old aged laws and the reasons prevailed in that time to introduce them.

I am sure about one thing.

As "hanoifortune" said,
the Saudi family in power use these horrific systems to suppress the people and control that country in a very brutal way. No one can talk or criticize their actions, police or cultural police will come to you and it will be the end of everything.
All live in fear and no one will rise against anything.

They use the religion for their own benefit. America will do nothing as long as they dance to its tune.

Do not go to that country to work if you can find any other place.

If you go, even if you are a Muslim, do not look at any woman, do not engage in any argument. The farther of my Muslim friend lost his life in the open air jail. Reason to go to prison: the old man came out without his passport to go to the nearby mosque for praying. (no identity when checked) Punishment: 2 weeks in open air prison in hot season. Old man suffocated due to heat and dehydration.

Non-muslims, do not talk anything about any God or try to explain about your religion to any one.

There are many good Saudi Muslims who understand this situation , they will never take any chance to come forward to talk behalf of you.

The European Union expressed dismay that Saudi Arabia had beheaded a young Sri Lankan domestic helper convicted of murdering her employer's baby, despite repeated appeals for a stay of execution. She was a Muslim.

“I am deeply dismayed by the information that Sri Lankan national Ms Rizana Nafeek was executed,'' EU foreign affairs head Catherine Ashton said in a statement.

“On numerous occasions, the EU had called for the execution to be commuted and had asked the authorities to exercise all their powers in order to grant her relief from the death penalty,'' Ashton said.

The helper “was most probably a minor at the time of the crime,'' she added.

Nafeek was executed yesterday after she was found guilty of smothering the baby following an argument with the child's mother, her employer, the Saudi interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.

Human rights groups said Nafeek was 17 at the time of the offense and that Saudi Arabia was one of just three countries in the world to impose the death penalty for crimes committed as a minor.

“I recognize the serious nature of the crime involved and express my sincere sympathy to the family of the victim. However, I do not believe that their loss has been mitigated by Nafeek's death,'' Ashton said. “The EU opposes the use of capital punishment in all cases and under all circumstances and calls for a global moratorium as a first step towards its universal abolition. Capital punishment represents an irreversible loss of human life.’’(DS)

Sri Lanka has recalled its Ambassador in Saudi Arabia with immediate effect to express the country’s displeasure over the execution of Sri Lankan house maid Rizana Nafeek.

Rizana Nafeek, a Sri Lankan domestic worker convicted of killing a baby in her care in 2005 when she was 17 was executed yesterday.

It was earlier reported that the Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry under Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz has issued instructions for Nafeek’s execution.

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa also sent an appeal to King Abdullah on January 6, 2013, requesting a stay of the execution until a settlement can be reached between the baby’s family and a Saudi reconciliation committee.

Nafeek had been working in Saudi Arabia for two weeks in 2005 when the Utaibi family’s 4-month-old baby died in her care. Nafeek retracted a confession that she said was made under duress, and says that the baby died in a choking accident while drinking from a bottle. Authorities have incarcerated Nafeek in Dawadmi prison since 2005.

Human Rights Watch interviews with Sri Lankan embassy officials and reporting from Arab News found serious problems with Nafeek’s access to lawyers and competent interpreters during her interrogation and trial. Nafeek had no access to legal counsel until after a court in Dawadmi sentenced her to death by beheading in 2007.

In 2010, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court upheld Nafeek’s conviction and death sentence, exhausting all judicial remedies unless new evidence emerges.

International law prohibits the death penalty for crimes committed before the age of 18. A recruitment agency in Sri Lanka altered the birthdate on Nafeek’s passport to present her as 23 so she could migrate for work, but her birth certificate shows she was 17 at the time. The High Court in Colombo, Sri Lanka later sentenced two recruitment agents to two years in prison for the falsification of Nafeek’s travel documents.

If this happened in non muslim country, what will our muslim people do? I know that you can easily imagine the situation. Sharia is a law not a religion. Most muslim men and leaders manipulate their law which is benefited to them. I kindly request from muslim people to understand the truth at least now.

There are some few points I like to emphasize here,
1.Children are the most valuable things to the parents. So parents should not send their under-aged children to work. There should be a law punishing parents if they send their under-aged children for works.
2.Government should take proper actions to catch false agencies who do this type of things.
3.People who are willing to go abroad should be taught atleast basic laws of the relavent country. If any country practices unethical laws we should not send our people to those countries.

We are bound to obey the law of the country we are living. It can be either Saudi Arabia or USA. We are entering to the country by accepting their law and regulation.

In Saudi Arabia, they are practicing mixture of sharia law and their own law. As a person, working in this region (not Saudi Arabia) for some time, I can say, if there is a dispute between their own nationality or between two non-nationalities, then the law is implemented on fair manner. If the dispute is between a nationality and non nationality, then it's favouring to it's own citizen over a foreign national.

What you are saying is factually correct.
But being beheaded with a sword in a small, dusty town in a faraway land is a sad way to go, especially for a possibly innocent girl who was trying to earn a livelihood. That's the point, really.

In this particular case, a barbaric "diyabariya law" designed by a bronze age cult is used to control women and children.
Another innocent life sacrificed on the alter of the mullahs/monks/priests/rabbis/holymen.....
I agree with you fully.
Let me add that Sri Lanka should stop sending females who are non-professional / technical to those regions with immediate effect.
Let them wash their own dirty linen and rape their own women covered in burkas, then subjecting ours.

. Agree with you Monster. I think we all agree this is a very sad incident. Saudi royal family rules it as they wish and as poor outsiders we cannot do much. I really hope sl government will lift the living standard of this family in Muttur. At the moment we should not go against Saudi. We are not in a position to do that.

I am honestly willing to contribute financially from my side, if any organization is willing to collect funds to uplift her family.

Imagine the mental frame of a young girl for the past seven years in an unknown country and that too in a jail, awaiting to be beheaded. The mere thought of awaiting this death in a lonely cell is certainly enough to cripple even the strongest of man. So think about the plight of Rizana who may be dying minute after minute past six years. Is this Islam? This is mockery of Islam and Shariah!

Sri Lankan maid Rizana Nafeek beheaded in Saudi Arabia - Page 2 Cartoo10

This is the sad part.. despite all these discriminations.. the great country Sri Lanka has to send daughters, sisters and mothers to middle east as house maids to earn foreign remittance..

So called patriotic pundits have to understand these things..

Why not all Muslims in Sri Lanka get together after Friday prayers and do a protest march against Saudi Arabia. They can also declare Jehad on that country. If this occurred in a non Muslim country what would be the reaction. Why are you silent?

The true meaning of this most abused word Jihad is to "overcome your own fears and weaknesses" and not throw stones at someone or something in protest after the Juma Prayer, as it happened in most cases.
See how the Jihad would fit in this context and see what we can do collectively and individually to avert such a tragedy again here or anywhere.
