It is difficult to say what is THE BEST company share to buy at the moment.
Why don’t you try to buy shares in few different (good) companies? You have to have some sort of a risk mitigation plan if you want to invest long term and get decent profits. The last thing you would like to see is your investment values something less than Rs 3 millions in 2 years time.

Almost all the companies at CSE are expanding. Still there are some good counters. But the issue is, select the BEST company share out of that. It is difficult.

Best option is you decide on what u invest?

1) Am I investing in mushroom shares that promoted and manipulated which make zeros to heroes and billionaires to paupers or go behind the growing businesses that I can well understood without much financial background?

2) Do I need to understand the basics of investing? YEs I DO..

3) Do I need to do a market study, business environment of the sectors, political stability, crowd behaviour and their interest, economic growth of the country? Yes I DO...

4) Mostly u need to have an idea where you put ur money in, basically why you should buy a particular counter? Cuz its discussed here, some1 told me so are lame excuses.. You can refer the forum and only take buy decisions when lot of arguments take positv and lot of ppl are positive on the discussion being laid on..

5) The ROI from the portfolio - It could be difficult to calculate the profits u want from each share, but as long as ur ROI is up to ur expectations, no worries..

6) Portfolio diversification is a rule of thumb..Allocate most of your money to the biggest growth sectors..

These are not all.. its just few ideas before u move on.. remember to do ur own studies on anything u buy.. dont blame others cuz its ur money and u have the best interest in it Smile

if you can monitor the status of your portfolio at least in every month, you will get at least more than 400% return after 2 years, but you must monitor and choose good counters at that time and shifting the investment.........
good to look for-BANKS,MANUFACTURING,CONSTRUCTION,FOOD AND BEVERAGES...

there will be splits, bonus issues,rights.......since you are a long term investor you don't want to be panic in down turns, also take consider what smallville said......... Cool Cool Cool

Yeah you need to diversify your portfolio to balance your risk go for food and beverage , construction and banking . Identify shares that have growth and that are undervalued in price when these are identified your returns will be more . Invest in some key IPO's as well ....sell when you feel you have achieved your targets and move your funds in to other growth counters if you will the shares have saturated . Avoid speculative play if possible

Yes agree on the areas mentioned. Just note that usually Banks are one of the safest option to go for long term . Might not bring you the best return ( it could ) but might be good include to mitigate risk.
