Still I am holding this ... MAL is one of good plantation stock.. and cheapest cost stock.. when the market move up MAL pass 7/= .. 40% - 60% gain damn sure ...

MAL.X very illiquid stock ..only 3.8 million shares hold by public ..very very illiquid stock compare with price level...

so many negative values stocks push by double or thrice of their value.. Why we need to worry about MAL...

MAL is the BEST..

This quarter MAL seems to have some Tea losses. Bit hard to understand.

Still trading at 50% nav and PE of less than 4. Will they give a decent dividend atleadt this time?

Why not-"All"?
Namu, Kota, Agal, Kval, Bopl, etc. all made very good profit..
I was hoping MAL qtr EPS around 0.4 at least. 0.08 is far below my expectation for Mal.
Yes. at present market as per PE ratio and BV ratio that is pretty attractive. But think about coming coming June employee issue. Same cycle is going to repeat again as happend during 2011. Have to wait atleast 1 year to see decent profit again.

I remember that, Mal was trading above 11 during the last employee issue. Den it came to 2.9 due to poor performance and poor mkt condition. Then it took one year to get good profit.

Impossible. May be maximum of 0.2. Their dividend pay date not close enough. You got to wait atleast 6 months..

If you asked 10 people who directly involve in plantation, at least 6 or 7 say they cannot trust or don’t like to deal with the family who runs MAL.

I guess that tells why MAL trading at a more attractive price than the many other plantation sector companies.

Yes MAL seems to have some confidence issue. The managemnt can do something to change it if they care like a high dividend. But maybe wishful thinking.

BTW, no way we can expect MAL to declare Rs 1 dividend. It will be like "Taking feather from tortise".

This plantation rally better come before End of april. Else it will break many people hearts. To be fair Plantation has been stagnant since 2011 May. Nearly 2 years.

Hope somethign will happen. We need some positive news from Govn also, and they are not helping by imposing crazy taxes ( like the CESS on Bulk tea).

Speaking of which what on earth are they doing to SUGA holders. It is a crime for minority holders especially.

Not sure. But for me no reason to go up unless someone badly manipulate. So possibility is to cumdown..

There s one hidden plantation share in the mkt like potential Kegal as it went from 20 to 300. Find it and entering at right time would be great. Just I am waiting for that to cum down. For me Mal is not attractive.
Its dividend pay is excellent. May be after 3 years it could yield 25% dividend yield in sum years if u could grap at low..

MAL still good share. think about last year 4Q(2011) they have huge lost. I think this year they have recover. if we think that way we can expect good result in future.
I think they will offer 40 cent dividend for 2012.

Who said Mal is poor performance. they make Rs1.29 for financial year. 2011 they maid 35 cents. Mal doing his job correctly. I know MAL doesn't produce what we expected. MAL Make very nice profit 1Q-3Q . but 4Q they didn't make much. compare to 2011 4Q MAL recover very nicely. I feel MAL has own problem for 4th quarter(Aware)

this quarter they have made only 0.03, when other plantation companies have had a good time, any particular reason why mal made only 0.03 this quarter?

This is a worry, as they might make similar profit next time too nee (sure they have had good last june and sep quarters but DEC one is worrying....)

Hai Mate,

Don't interpret in that way. I studied Mal's behaviour atleast last three years very well. One of the good company gave me decent profit for me. Mal normally capitalise its allcost at year end quater. That is the only reason for their higher cost of sales. Some plantaions comapny only capitalise other cost related to their core business at last qtr. I am pretty sure that is the reason. At the moment I fully exit Mal.
