Market downs are opportunities for some to collect their favorties.

Once a positive trend formed people push it to limits. When a negative trend forms , people sell to the end. Thats human nautre and at CSE it is excessive.

Btw, for anyone interested to know, market is getting to be over sold again soon.

But right now it is best to watch further without buying as it can fall more with month end clerances.

My prediction done in 1H2011, it would reach 5,000. That was done, more than my expectation. That took me too in surprise.

I can not see any point in market reaching that level. True there are issues especially GOSL muddling internationally - a genuine concern. But, SL will never be a rouge state, at last GOSL has to bear to international pressure. That will solve the doubt if any. at the end , nothing will happen. Possibly, there will be a strong pressure GOSL to commit & deliver implementation of LLRC.

One thing , those loud patriots doesn't understand, that motherland & GOSL are two distinctive entities. anything against GOSL doesn't mean its against motherland. Certain thing which are against GOSL is for the motherland. Anyway, leave that discussion apart for the time being.

My estimate that last quarter we have hit the bottom of the cycle. improvements are on the corner. Price hikes are positive which will help GOSL to improve its finances while people who the price will look for ways of economizing.

There are concerns lingering in the horizon, but those won't be shaky.

I see NO point in market reacting that over-aggressively.something beyond 5000 is unimaginable - even I doubt about 5000, very unlikely

There's no point of argueing and nothing personal here.The problem is where country is heading.Future is gloomy.Yes even 3000 would have been possible is we got that commenwealth thing and crashed like greece.Again nothing personal. Very Happy

Next time please tell us when them market is green for few days ( not when deep red) it is time to exit . That would be a help. Else it is hard to catch you guy during those days.

You chaps better learn to spell sinhala before giving predictions about the stock market. A few years ago we had pundits who couldn't spell sinhala giving predictions about the war as well.

I think today downfall is mainly due to forced selling

Govt and opposition are responsible for present downward trend.
Govt create unnecessary problems.Opposition is week due to internal politics

Acording to foreign relations expert HRC decisions will not effect the country much even resolution is passed.It will be like last year They will give some guidance to follow and report next year 2014.

But some retailers might take this matter very seriously That also might effect the market

Anybody familiar with DFM Index will know how the index went up to 6000 and came down to 1925 within years. Anything can happen to ASPI too. Good news is DFMI is going up but not ASPI. Lets hope for the best.

This is the time to buy.......Do not be hurry put you GTC order at very low prices........Slowly collect good counters average it......Focus on dividend paying companies..............

Do not miss the opportunity RSI is around 33 now.......

Collect only for cash..........you need to have holding power for minimum two months.......Market can may maximum go down for I.A. another two months.........Probably before May it will turnaround.........

Be greedy when others fearful............Do not follow the crowd...........

I am 100% sure only few follow this........Again do not hurry........ Collect slowly by averaging.......

Media always keeps the readers off track conversing the same subject differently perhaps giving more wight to their own agenda. You may realize it by carefully reading on going events of GOSL, CBSL & offshore Geneva events. Whatever, it is sure that such events directly or indirectly create a vacuum in market environment. While appreciating individual's vision on nose-dive, I feel it is the usual reaction from local investors who are exposed to multi color media levels. We could see the how the market behavior reacts against different strength levels in next few days, before bouncing back to expected track again.

Preaching to the World to adhere to the UN charter and follow protocol at UN meetings is a counterproductive strategy as much as denying, hiding the head in the sand and claiming the whole World concocted a lie to castigate Sri Lanka. There’s too much anger and fury thrown at the current regime by many international organizations and very powerful governments. Silver lining is there is still ample time for the regime to change the ill-conceived strategy, pull back and implement meaningful measures. Everyone needs to understand that this situation is not going away and a group of countries will act unilaterally, with or without Sri Lanka’s help, to the bitter end. Ordinary citizens and investors will feel the ramifications of every step they take. Just for a second, as investors, consider the combined GDP power of the nations pushing Sri Lanka to the wall. Then consider how far the apparent “allies” are willing to go with the debt ridden tiny nation. This should have been the time for citizens and investors to reap the benefits and not languish in uncertainty. Unless there’s a meaningful outcome, Colombo exchange can only expect a long, sad and unnecessary decline.
