Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka now open
Alexandre Glauser, Area General Manager of Centara Hotels & Resorts Sri Lanka, together with Teddy Roland, Hotel Manager of Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka, welcomes Sri Lankan cricket star, Kumar Dharmasena, and his family upon their arrival to stay at the resort as the first guests.
The newly-opened Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka is set on beautiful Passikudah Bay, on Sri Lanka’s northeastern coast, and offers a wide range of facilities appealing to couples, families and those longing for active holidays. The shallow waters of the bay are ideal for swimming, windsurfing and kayaking, while resort accommodation comprises 126 spacious rooms and suites with each featuring a private balcony or terrace.
During the soft-opening period, Reef Cafe, the resort's all-day dining restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner is open, as is Aqua Bar, serving drinks and light meals al fresco style and overlooking the infinity pool and beach front. Opening shortly will be Spice Market Restaurant, Spa Cenvaree, the fitness center, and the Bay Ballroom, which will have a capacity of 150 persons.
The resort is most conveniently accessed at present via Trincomalee Airport, the road journey taking 90 minutes, and with roundtrip airport transfers available from the resort at the time of booking, at a one-way cost of US$89 and US$165 return per person. Flights into Batticaloa Airport will become available from July 1, 2013, with the road journey to the resort taking just 40 minutes and the single fare costing US$75, or US$140 return.
