Good one.

Brain washed patriotics can't say yes.

They do not want to understand or accept the leaders whom they are following blindly also doing same thing. (Keeping Green Card, Depositing bribe and other santhosam in the Swiss Bank, Sending their children to western countries for education or to settle even visiting Pope to get rid of the sins)

I personally see many of such people who fall to this category.

We need not to go to extreme ends. What we should oppose is Anti - Sri Lanka attitude by some of western policy makers...... not the western people or western countries as whole. If we go in to that extreme we are governing with hatred which is against our Sinhala Buddhist Culture.

It's funny to see how all the people are praising Dinesh Chandimal for not playing for IPL. only very few believe that he just rejected a second chance. He was not sold at the initial auction.
Bcos of a player got injured, he received a call.
Obviously you will reject such offer.. Neutral

And, that's too 100k, his salary during the period will obviously make it up

But let's not blame our cricketers for not rejecting their IPL offers. This is their only chance to prove their individual talents and they have to work hard and play hard. Or else they will be simply rejected.
Why should they suffer for politicians' weaknesses. I work with the Indians and nobody is talking about politics and they all are looking forward for the IPL. They know everybody from Sanga to Kulaseksra. It's the Sri Lankan media which is broadcasting Tamil Nadu news 24/7 and exaggerating the situ rather than giving priority to real news at home. Dinesh will definitely go next year. What our players should do is show the middle finger to the local media and others who asks to reject IPL and score sixes and fours which will fetch real money into the country. And end of the day they are only elevating Sri Lanka in the minds of Indians. At least let them bring good name to Sri Lanka.

When can we have a leader who will not think about himself??

There are few major things needed and its simple,

1) STOP employing people to state sector
2) TURN around CEB, CPC or atleast privatise like SLT fashion with 49% Govt control
3) LIST major state instituitions like BOC, People's bank, NSB, SLIC
4) SHUT down Mihin and Privatise Sri Lankan. If president needs a jet to fly at his will, he can buy one with the losses he is making to run the airlines. He could have bought a few decent private jets by now!
5) Get rogues, crooks and thugs out of the Govt. STOP Jealousy towards successful people
6) FOCUS on Jaffna instead of Hambantota. Jaffna has money and development is much needed. Revenue and income from Jafnna over time will be good enough to develop Hambantota and not vice versa!!! TN politico's will have to hide!
7) POLICE should protect people and not Politicians
8 ) HIRE good economists and let them run finances and planning policies! President or CAbraal not suitable for this!
9) SIDE Lining minorities will bring more woes to the majority! Singapore a beautiful example - EQUAL RIghts
10) Join hands with USA and West! They have the power at the moment. JAPAN and West can help us immensely if we have good western relationships and they are genuine unlike India or China!
11) Do away with subsidies and promote our farmers with viable crops and invest the subsidy money to educate them with new farming techniques. Our pathetic Fisheries department and less focus on Tea are not helping us. Please make bread cheaper and dont force people to the extent of what they should and should not eat!
12) LOOK to create private sector jobs rather than bloating the state sector. Cutting waste must be priority!
13) Invest more on Education and Health and room for reasonable and monitored private universities, including medical universities
14) Make English common working Language and Sinhala and Tamil compulsory languages at school. English will enhance computer knowledge and people of Sri lanka can better communicate and engage with others. INDIA doing a good jobat this. Their software market boomed with their citizens being good at English and computers. This will end language barrier we currently face and minimise distrust with minorities!
15) MAKE jobs and bring those poor Sri Lankans abroad back home rather than trying to send them abroad to cover Govt Budget deficits! Family members living abroad are having a major impact on our social development. GOVERNMENT must understand no one wants to leave their country and family. They do so in desperation! Its so sad to see politicians try to find Jobs in Korea and other places whilst they can try to create jobs in Lanka!!!!!
16) MAY 18th should be a day of mourning and not a month of celebration with military shows. LTTE and Armed forces were all Sri Lankans. They laid their lives for ill sighted policies and sidelining and this created a war. Most LTTE cadres (Sri Lankans) were brain washed and forced to fight. We must look at all those who lost their lives as Sri Lankans and mourn the loss of so many productive youth and future generations!

And the list goes on........ You can add a few valuable points to the list

This govt with its 2/3rd majority and immense public support can achieve most of these without any issue! USELESS talking!

Cheers!
Rapa (Disgusted Citizen)
