To me SAMPATH is worth at Rs.220/- to 225/- level.
Possibale to Hit & pass the Rs.240/- by April-04th (XD date).
Early Birds will have a chance.

01. Rate of Dividend: - Rs. 6.00 per share = XD:-05.Apr.2013
02. Proportion: - Voting - One (01) new share for every 33.12464926213 existing shares held = XD:-05.Apr.2013 (This means Rs.7/- per share).

01 + 02 = Rs.13/- Dividend.

This is intriguing !
There is must be some good reason for the unusual price drop, even by 15/- today, suddenly.

It's the scrip issue that makes the price of the share before and after the XD date more volatile. It is hard to value the extra share you get per 33 shares held.

If you buy a 1000 shares you will take 6000/= + approximately 6800/= worth of shares (i.e. 1000/33 * 225)

If you sell now you forgo the extra shares that can be quite valuable given the future share price.

SAMP shareholders should consider the dividend as 56 (33+20 from cash dividend) shares per 1000 shares held. It adds a different perspective

I can't understand how you got 56 as dividend.

If you can please explain me rainmaker..

I don't think 56 will be the dividend per share. It will be around Rs 13/- as explained by Market.Player.

BTW. Can some know in advance the lodging date of ESOP Shares to the market.

If you own 1000 shares and reinvest the cash dividend + keep the scrip dividend then you will have 56 extra shares.... The volume of your portfolio has grown by 6%. This plus growth in the share price compounds your future return.

It is hard to value a scrip because this year's scrip will earn dividends next year.
