I know this is an "Equity" forum. I wanted to bring the topic since the word is all over the place today.
I went to the gold shop last nite and its full of people. I coudnt even talk to the salesman.
Any expert on gold prices in the forum? What will be the trend in the coming days.

Am not expert.

Gold is going through an unstable period due to Cyprus issue and a possible sell trigger from some other countries.

Possibly these people are buying because of the nearly 5% drop on friday. I read some opinions that gold had entered a bear period and can drop 10-12% more. Some others said it will bounce back. Best to watch a bit more which direction it will be going.

Neither an expert but all what I read say that the price is likely to come further down as many countries have to go to their reserves soons to extricate themselves from the financial quagmire that they are in right now.

If I am not mistaken I could recall some reference material that world gold demand mainly link with that of oil & its prices.
Cyprus bail out related activities is a special event for the down trend of Gold.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

This is what I heard from Bloomberg TV too. The expert was saying it could be good for a short term trade, but we don't have that opportunity. Some central banks are on the look for selling gold.

Is buying gold a good idea?

Gold has been on a fantastic bull run. It has gone up by more than 500% over the past decade. But according to experts, the rally is expected to end soon and gold prices may come down. Investing in gold has always seemed a good idea if you want to make a bit of money but with current gold rates at an all time high, is it the time to be fishing through your jewellery box looking for gold items to sell, or is it the time to think about buying some to add to your assets?
