Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC!

Next to JKH, Forien buy favourite, consistent 10 year performance, Decent dividen + Scrip Dividen, good management, top bank, expanding deposit and loan growth, always springs a surprise....

Well others:
SAMP, HNB, JINS, PLC

PABC, VFIN and LFIN also good but not happy with their gold exposure and DP involvement not liked by many! But DP companies usually give decent dividens and splits at regular intervals.

RCL to be hit by electricity hike, high inflation, not many will look at luxury bathware/tiles, so slowing demand

COCR can spring a surprise if interest rates dip and loans pick up!

Views welcome

Cheers!

COMB cheers my very first and continuous investment which dint put me any sort of frustration over 8 year history even in the recession times.
but looking at current market, if long term define to be 6-10 years,100% gain expected from
SHL
PLC
ECL
FLCH - of course with good annual dividends
RAL (i dont know why i have so much hope over this share.)
SEMB - (frustrated with current lousy moments, but yet i still believe ya!)

declaimer- i have all mentioned shares in my PF. no buy or sell or any recommendations.

I agree with you ..but still JINS cannot make even 25% profit by increase the price level

JINS can touch 15/- easily and a dividen with that will give you a good shot in the arm.

My first pick is COMB, followed by SAMP and HNB.

But having only bank stocks is not safe..

Cheers!

Vone is a good pick but it has a lot to move.

RCL will not be in good shape after electricity hike and LFIN exposed to gold loans. Hmmmmmmm........

Cheers!

no no
LFIN also publish good result.
NOW LFIN FD rates are near bank FD rates. Then they have good profit ( gold loss is a little part of massive profit) Very Happy

Guys,

there is no need to worry about gold market prices yet. When a financial institution accepts a pawning artical, they advance only about 70% - 80% of its market value. So there is a safe buffer of nearly 20% of the value.

If the gold market fall more than the amount advanced, then only there is a posibility of customers being default.

Another thing is, from the point of view of accoutning, the pawning stock is not a asset of a company. Rather its a liability. Therefore there will be no provisions for the fall in market value...

I also believe there is enough room for VONE to grow....
PS: I hold VONE so i might be bias..

VONE >?? actually its not a company ,Its RCL,LFIN and SAMP ...There are number of shares in CSE you can invest..RCL will survive but its not out performer , SAMP next quarter profits will heavily effect due to gold prices,
(Italy ,Spain will soon sell out their gold reserves )

And RCL now move into manufacturing business to conglomerate..Mr Nimal's decisions might heavily affect RCL prices,

I cannot see any possitive other that LFIN, Why invest in VONE ,You can directly invest into LFIN,

My PICKs,

LLUB - High dividend
COMB and HNB - Look at their ROE compared with other banking stocks
AHPL - Only city hotels that are surviving at the movement
SERV - long term definitely make profits
HHL - Well diversified -
SPEN - OK ,but more than 60% in tourism sector
NAMU - Definitely yes, Oil palm sector last yeat margins account for 65%
TKYO.X - They have show their profits in next few quarters ,
AEL - YES -Based on the longterm contracts they have got
NTB - Based on the price multiples - it should trade around 86 ( based on the sector PE)
