I think a dividend is long overdue. The rate cut today is another positive for First Capital. Any views on it?

I remember this share is a broker recommended one two years ago. i hold this for some time now. even the factors seems to be positive with CFVF it falls to very low levels past years. it seems some interesting gained, but there will be noticeable pressure to put it down because many of the guys stuck with it.

It is a real question that why CFVF not giving any dividend since 2011. I'm not aware about teh company status.

appreciate if some can shed light on it. personally i am thinking the current level is still low for it desired value. Anyway i will hold this till a good return.

Just to mention, CSEC owns 70% of CFVF .

Today, with the news of rates adjustments, CFVF touched 16.50, a new 52Week record and later settler around 15.50

It's parent Dunamis Capital PLC (CSEC.N0000) closed at 13.20, 12.58% below its 52-week high

Do you know the story of Next Ventures Ltd? Is it now Schafter controlled?
Also noticed the stakes in CSEC and CFVF by Janashakthi Ltd - bought on margin. Margin pledging which shares Question

Yes, CSEC disposed their incompetent businesses, LAMB and the Montessori products, last year and year before and focused on financial segment. More than 75% profit of CSEC business is coming from CFVF. Manjula and Dinesh collected CSEC shares heavily from the market during the bear period.

25% of my portfolio is CFVF and my last collection was at 13.10 (Avg 12.30). I have no intention to buy further or sell immediately. Having a good sleep at night and waiting for the right time to sell.

I don’t have any CSEC shares at the moment and thinking the get the maximum of the harvest investing only on CFVF.

What do you think Chnwi? We will be able to get 80-100% gain easily before they dispose their bonds, thanks to this bull run and PBJ. The real game is after that.
New comers, Please don’t take this as a promotion. Just search the forum and find recent discussions. There are some valuable contributions from Chinwi and TheAlchemist.

@bond,
I think Next Venture was family owned , Dinesh was in control ???
Anything happened ? I have no direct contacts. pl. explain.

can you explain about margin case too ?

@seek,

Yes. I hope so, to get a fair return, may be not as much as last time .

You have done it correctly.
My holding was CSEC:CFVF 2:1
during last few months I gradually adjusted it to 1:2

Funny thing is many brokers do not aware of these types of shares and what kind of business they do.

I had to explain it to one of my brokers to justify my holdings.

මොකක්ද මචන් මේ ? මොකටද මෙච්චර ගත්තේ ?

I think, now he is consulting others to buy CFVF.

he he Same here. Most of them are adhered to well known stocks and talk about them every time.

Sorry I didn't answer correctly in my last comment.
Yes, with this new situation we may get nearly 80-100% before they get the real harvest.
I do not hope to sell. Last time I collected more after calculating the big EPS before they announced.

New stock brokering firm and margin account arm will strength their bottom line further. In addition to that they earn good income from consultations, specially facilitating debt issues.

Thanks all for contributing to lighten up CFVF. I feel safe my investment today. Smile

seek , you are absolutely correct. why dont broker firms not acknowledging us these information. about 2 years ago they promoted this but didn't explain any in it's down turn.

Should have been easily collect more when it was at low prices. Sad

Last Qtr EPS 79 cents,
9 months EPS 1.84 (annual 2.50)

trading at 6 PER. 15/2.50
looks average company, problem is much uncertainty
the dark side is Short term investments 11b and 1% of its drop in value will erase half of annual profit.

To know about the future we have to do many kinds of explorations

@malanp, you are talking about 1% drop when intrest rates are declining and equities are appriciating. Actally their investments should be 2-3% up now.

Ha Ha well said Chinwi ! Smile
Let me be the first to congratulate you on your 1000 posts. well done and keep it up !
Talking about explorations, it is similiar to oil explorations. if we pretend each well is one quarter, then sometimes first three wells may seem dry, no ? but in 4th or 5th well, you may strike oil !
Not much time left to do seismic studies now !
