ASPH announced share sub-division (1;4500) on 20th March 2020, the effect from 18th May. share subdivision is where the shares in an existing share class are each subdivided into two or more new shares.
In this case- ASPH, if you got 1 share, after sub-division, you entitled to get 4500 no.of shares. At that time, share traded @ Rs.350-450 level (NAV Rs.825). after subdivision, investor ASPH Avg. cost is 0.07cents (NAV Rs.0.17cents). after a few days, they announced the right issue @ 0.20 cents.

ASPH share split really benefited person who got ASPH before the share split. within few people earned more than 100% returns. ASPH always thinking their stakeholder, and try to give maximum value them. ASPH  is a really wealth maximization share of investors. try to hold, again they will give more capital gains rather than a dividend.

Need to more times..  touch RS.1. If It touched Rs. 1 within a short period. have more chances comeback bottom level. it is not good for the stability of share. it will take time to stable @ 0.30CENTS. with market conditions, It will go to another step 0.40cents.

Dear Experts,
What you opinion  for INDUSTRIAL ASPHALTS (CEYLON) PLC (ASPH.N0000), financial performance in future.
As per the Budget 2021, there will by strong demand for asphalt  for the Road development projects.
Since ASPH produces   SEALKOTE®  (BITUMEN EMULSIONS AND CUTBACKS) . May be this share will be benefit in coming budget and development project ??

Don’t even touch this garbage. There was a major share split and rights issue this year. Now it’s a very high risk share.

BUT i can agree with you  @cselearner. bcoze, you see the future. this guy talk with past facts. dont criticize or downgrade any  shares without reasonable measurement. it's not ethical. RJ, you have experience, pls justify with supporting evidence. GL.

i too agree with u , this is a high risk share .
after split ASPH Avg. cost is 0.07cents. but in the mkt it should be trade .10 cents since there is no .07 or .08 . look at the share holding composition , it will give the answer . before the split , the price went without any concrete reason (to around 400 +). ??? is why CSE/ Sec not inquire the these type of splits , actually there is hidden game. there may be capital gain but new comers should learn with past experience . for me this share not worth .05 rs. be careful .

Very well said. This is such a mystery share..
We, as traders, analyse before making a decision, otherwise it is considered a gamble.

@suku502,

before , split or whatever, first must need to take approval CSE. after consider figures & facts, ULTIMATE regulatory authorizer CSE. not you. ASPH really think about their existing shareholders than others. That's thing, they always maximize shareholders wealth. ok, i ll come to topic.

how did you measure RISK in ASPH? we need to your calculation. before ASPH split NAV is Rs.1088. market traded @ RS. 450. AFTER split NAV 0.24cents and Now, NAV is RS.0.29Cents. ASPH trade in similar to NAV. when we compare with others, ASPH IS REALLY worth. BECAUSE other less than RS.1 share traded over NAV 2 more times. Anyway, this budget so benefited to ASPH too. ASPH holders really lucky.

Compare with others less Rs.1 shares, can understand over/under or fairly value shares.

share             NAV       Market price

ASPH              0.29          0.30
MULL              0.21          1.10
TESS              0.33          0.70
CSF                0.79          1.10
BERU              0.44          1.00
SEMB              0.57          0.60
BLUE               0.30          0.70

SOME people repeated about split of ASPH. after 5 years, this people talk about this split. they never think out of box. compare with less 1 rupees shares, ASPH, really WORTH @ Current level. They expand their non co-business activities with using half of right issue fund. Recently, Dr.Senthilverl bought over 142Mn shares @0.30 cents and increase no. of shares up to 368Mn shares.
others haven't any reasonable proved evidence, every times, talks regarding ASPH share split not other thing. never see future benefits. GL.

There’s a heated exchange on this ASPH thread 😄 this is wolf of Wall Street stuff
Opinions clearly are divided. There’s pros and cons mentioned in this entire thread. Let new investors read through and decide for themselves.

If buy @0.30cents  and more to 0.40 cents, 25% profit sure. it may move with in short time of period.
As per last financial report N.A.V - 0.29 cents. So it's no risk at all.
