It is extraordinary performance with very high leverage...........I think Kapi is waiting for gov. to pay them for the projects done. Around 4b in receivables.

KAPI will perform well in the future. They are in to ship repairs now and doing under water repairs as well where even DOCK is not capable of doing that. well diversified in the post war developing areas.

Investing in companies with exposure to construction will give good returns in the future.

As Arena stated delay in recovering the dues from the gov. is the bottleneck. But as cost of borrowing is coming down, the risk factor is less.

KAPI performance is really encouraging.

According to the latest results KAPI is clearly having a valuation above 40. NAV also very strong........If they repeat this results and pay off these loans the value should be around 70+.....

Have a look the 5 year summary given under 2012 annual report.........Incredible.........

MTD Walkers PLC, a company which has interests in construction and power generation, has reported a net profit of Rs.275.5 million for the financial year ended March 31, 2013, up by Rs.129 million the firm reported in the previous year.

Malaysia's MTD Capital Bhd, an investment holding company owns over 90 percent of the firm.

The revenue during the 12 month period rose 29.8 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) to Rs.7.5 million and other income also rose 47.8 percent YoY to Rs.172.6 million.

The finance expenses during the period rose 97.3 percent to Rs.557.3 million.

The earnings per share improved to Rs.3.04 from Rs.1.68 in the previous year.

A segmental analysis showed that the engineering arm of the group reported a post tax profit of Rs.330 million against Rs.307 million in the previous year.

The power generation business segment reported a post tax profit of Rs.69.6 million against a post tax loss of Rs.60 million in the previous year.

*colombo engineering acquisition will open up new door to the marine engineering.this is one area sri lanka has huge potential because of our location and on going port related developments.(kapi planing to invest $ 30m more to expand)
*western airducts acquisition will help the company to be a market leader in air conditioning .
*acquiring two mobile crushers will give them flexibility to shit operations to areas in demand.
*investment in asphalt production will increase income
*foundation piling sector has huge demand in the country and walkers piling is the second largest in the country.
*kapi is planing to enter building construction as well.
For me it's look like more diversified engineering company than AEL.

After seen this much of improvements .......................Share price is adjusting slowly and steadily. There were no big buy orders ( Less than 100,000) but 600k traded. Recently it went to 39+ may be due to insider info.......

Diversified share where all the sectors performing well. We would have discussed earlier..

good research hariesha. last few fear KAPI had mix results. from this year they should do better than that.last annual report indicate some good developments.

As I have published an analysis on KAPI and AEL in the research section, I would like to reply to your query.
In their quarterly report, they have calculated EPS based on total profit. Actually it has to be on profit less minority interest (Profit attributable to equity holders of parent). That’s the correction they have made.

That shows the quality or lack therof of the CFO, blindly signing the accounts without checking the correctness of the EPS.
Hopefully they have better specialists in other areas, otherwise future prospects will also be errata. Not knowing how to calculate EPS may also mean not knowing how to build a bridge correctly.

And the people who works only make mistakes. If you really start a project these errors are negligible. But yes there are people who are only paid for producing these documents. CFO or CEO , GM will not read these financials since they knows the management accounts well above.

Another thing this accountant will never ever make a mistake like this in his life. lol

When I spoke about KAPI a few months ago nobody was interested. That was the time to buy.

Obviously now people are promoting

MTD was delisted from the Malay bourse.
