Sri Lanka today sold Rs. 3 billion worth of 30 year bonds at a coupon rate o f 9-pct, announced the public debt department.

The Central Bank which conducted the auction initially only offered Rs. 2 billion worth of bonds but increased it to Rs 3 billion as the auction received bids running up to Rs. 6 billion.

Weighted average yield of the bonds per annum stands at 12.50-pct net of tax.
