Due to the drought prevailed during last few quarters I think they have pumped water up from downstream to run the turbines. Razz

2013 Revenue =51 Million. Cost of sales = 42 million

---

BTW, their cost of sales seems to be always around 40 million.

Cost of Sales HPFL
2010 - 25 million
2011 - 37 m
2012 - 40 m
2013 - 42 m

Revenue
2010 - 144 m
2011 - 135m
2012 - 56m
2013 - 51m

Drop in revenue in 2012-13 and CFR loss caused problems for them.
2012 & 2013 was dry years and 2013/14 will be a wet year and good for hydropower.

according to hemas power latest report rainfall has increased during this season.
HPWR report says
"Hydropower sector profits rose to Rs. 39 million for the
quarter compared to Rs. 7 million recorded in the previous year. This is chiefly attributed
to the higher rainfall received in the catchments compared to the previous year."
"Whereas the increase in
hydropower sector revenue stemmed from higher energy generation assisted by a healthy
north‐east monsoonal rains and the contribution of our Magalganga plant albeit at a lower
level than expected."

It may be due to the locations of the power plants. I think Rainfall increased only in the last quarter.
somehow HPFL plants did not generate full capacity.

Hydro Power Free Lanka PLC was incorporated
in the year 2000 to develop Hydro Potential
capacities within the premises of Pussellawa
Plantations Limited and Maturata Plantations
Limited.

Thnks CSE , but I have found that Names of plantation companies do not necessarily correlate to their geographical locations.
