Based on history, there are many. but, equity market has influence. it goes up & goes down.
its not easy to get large return as individual and without taking a big risk

I liked your Jamis Banda incarnation better, he was more direct to the point.

Looks like Neesha turned a 16 million investment into a 270 million holding. Is she your girlfriend Rainman?

I second it. btw, not only COMB.X, there are good shares for foundation. It may be not a good practice to follow our word in your investment. But i can direct you some shares, you have to analyze the potential and take the decision my friend,.

If you are planning to keep shares for 5 years, dont try to buy shares below 100 rupees. Most of long term counters are traded more than 100, COMB,NEST, LLUB, SAMP, CFIN etc...

I would put money on VONE and ignore for 5 years. I hope it will increase at least to 50Rs by five years time.(this is just a assumption).

if you buy at 20, you can buy 50000 shares for 1 million investment.
if it increase to 50, in 5 years, profit rate is 2500000-1000000/1000000 *100 =150%
if you put money on FD at 15%, 1000000*(1.15)^5 = 2011357
profit rate = 1011357/1000000*100 = 101%

Please do your own research prior to investment. Any recommendation without facts need to be ignored because it is your money afterall.

When evaluating past performance since 2006 (thats when i started investing in stocks) I would say its better you evaluate and change your portfolios from time to time.

Year 2008 December recorded a global recession. Good company shares fell down below Net Asset Value.. Browns and JKH were my best picks then... JkH was 50 ...cant imagine that now

Higher the risk higher the return... When LTTE used planes above colombo BBH fell to 15 and later recovered within two months... these were the best shares then.
Before 2009 May I used to sell and book profit sooner than holding... Any bomb blast could change the momentum in the market those days.,

Next era for me was small caps.. I read somewhere that small caps out perform the blue chips.. So it happened then.. glass , tess, mullers, york, greg,, all were true to that..

Vehicle price went down making companies to double the share prices.. Dimo was 450 and reached 1900+..

Next was speculative era... DPL, East were my favourites then..

Market started to fell down since then...

Now we have come to another era.. Our trade defecit is very high.. In this period the best will be companies which are manufacturing export oriented products.. DIPPED, TJL are my selections these days.. May be for two to three years they will out perform CSE.. Anything that has foreign touch is high in dividend payout ratio.. TJL is 80% thanx to foreign touch they have.. and the dividend will be a growing one ..I dont have five year plans... just evaluate the current trends and change your portfolios
