If JINS is sold what would be its price ?  25/= ?  30/= ?

This is just for curiosity, not to start a rumor.
(I hold JINS )

If the shafters stop shafting and decide to sell 22 (10x EPS) would be a reasonable price.

These guys make profits and distribute half of it very year. If they didn't pay a dividend the price would go up by more because of the NAV increase.

In the past 5 years alone they must have distributed close to 2 billion rupees without interest. With interest it would be more than 3 billion.

The NAV of distributed profits is about 10/= per share..... Note these are just rough calculations

In the scenario the Schaffters want to sell a Controlling Interest in Jins, they can easily get minimum 15 times earnings multiple Price i.e. approx Rs 30 - Rs 33.
Just see the minority interests p/e's of other quoted Insurance companies trading - 10,15,20 times earnings.
For most Company's, a controlling stake will command a premium p/e for eg MORI deal done at nearly 17 times trailing 2013 earnings.
I dont have any Jins !

I hold JINS too. It's a good share, but I would be willing to sell at Rs 20... Steady dividend of Rs 1, every year since 2010... EPS: Rs 2.20 for 2012.

I bought it as a defensive stock when the yield was just under 9%. I would sell when the yield drops to 5~6%, i.e. at Rs 20 or thereabouts.
