My personal picks:

AEL
NTB

LLUB

Haycarb should also do well given the exchange rate depreciation

Any comments? Check out the Financial Reports!

AEL is a very good share, this is the only share came to my mind after reading the book called" Warren buffet's way" recently which satisfied all the criterias mentioned in the book.........

TJL,RCL also very attractive for long term purpose
I would rather wait few months for CDB
I sense TKYO,PEG could appreciate in the mid term.

above points are just my ideas, do your own analysis as I did on the above stocks before buying......

For long term.

Kapi is a good share with long term prospects however their gearing level is too high compared to AEL and Trade receivables also very high and growing which may result in further loan financing.....
However their Price to Book value ratio is much lesser than AEL.......

RCL,Piramal,CTC, I have and will collect. The new one is CIND (central industries), after studying it.

Roshana, AEL does not comply with the buffet way of investment. Please try and look over once again. In any case careful with the buffet way of investment as it has changed a lot now from 50 years ago. If you like fundamental shares try to look at securities analysis by graham and dodd and inteligent investor by graham. These are the people warren buffet learnt from and the analysis is still basically can be applied.

tjl, dipd, hhl, vone, plc...

the first two are not diversified companies and have concentrated on gloabal markets. thus the ruppee depreciation will be plus for these two shares... further they are very well managed... dipd command 5% of global gloves market...

hhl, vone are diversifed and focusing only on local business... so better to diversify the portfolio to local businesses as well.. 6% of growth in gdp is a good sign

plc is well managed , belongs to state bank and now in dull market of vehicle leasing. but this dull trend of the vehicle market will break due to yen price going down or may be when government want to reduce the tax of vehicles to increase government revenue...

Warren buffet's investment decisions are based following 4 criterias,

1)Business Tenents -First question was whether the business is simple and understandable? I think business of AEL is not very simple but understandable for me as compared to a high tech company
2nd Question - Does this business have a consistent operational history? I believe they have good operational history in AEL
3rd Question - Does this business have a favorable long term prospects? of Course they have very good prospects a head with a double digit growth in both the industry and business expected.
2)Management Tenents - I beleive AEL has a rational and skillful management as compared to its rival MTD Walkers which can be seen from it's balance sheet figures such as Amount of relative trade receivables, debt position etc and Profitability level. Strong relationship with its key stakeholders also a plus factor.
3)Financial Tenents - AEL has very high ROE level, their profit margins are very high.(pls refer fin.statements)
4)Value Tenents - focus on whether Mkt price of the share is at a significant discount to the value of the business? I beleive the value of AEL is much higher than the current price of Rs 20(mkt value).According to PE method,DCF method, Price to Book value method, value of the business is much higher than Rs 20.

As Warren Buffets criteria CDB , VFIN, RCL , AEL will fall in line , I would also add small finance company AMF to the list.
