It depends.

Perspective short term or Long term?

If short term , we are yet to see sign of stabilty . Until so more fall can happen. But we are reaching a improtant barrier 6000. So we need to monitor what happens around that area.

Also note market is approaching oversold region.

Guys how can we predict the market to the dot?

I said it is oversold. Means if buying interest comes over many counters there can be a short term up around at 6000 - 6040.

But if it falls below 6000 is can fall more as some people might panic .
there were some technical barriers discussed.

There is a different in mentality of a long term investor vs short term trader. That why most of these questions come.

But I can say so far market is more matured than last year with panic selling.

Concerning volume I don't think so we'll be in panic mania. Check the buy and sell orders.

FD is easy money, even that lower risk will give lower return. Investment in general gives higher the risk, higher the return. I'm sure we all know this. But at the current situation if you have money to be invest tomorrow, I would select the CSE over a FD. If you take a one year deposit, I'm sure CSE will do better. There are counters that declares dividents which are closer to the FD rate.

Don't invest all the money in CSE, invest half in FD. That way you want be as frustrated. That's what I do and I change the percentage as per the circumstance.

But lets say Debentures..When the stable banks (HNB)and companies(Hayles) giving you 14% -16% TOTAL TAX free return why looking at the market..??

When you deduct the inflation its good 6 to 7 percent return..I think its good deal.

My opinion is we should not invest our life time saving in the market..Market would be my last resort to park if I have ..

Yes FD is low risk compared to the CSE. But I like this excitement, unpredictability.I'm a very small retailer in the CSE.Though I am almost addicted to it.

Question: Which is good - stay with CSE or go with FD?

Answer: Both. At these levels, I would hold whatever investments I have already made in the CSE. But, if I have fresh funds to invest, I would put them in FDs.

If you think like a fund manager, 30% return per year is very good.

Hence at any point if you get 17-20 % return from Stocks then you can transfer that money to FD and get another 11-12 % withing one year.

Say, you bought @ 10 and sold @ 12.50 withing good time . If you use that amount to a FD , return for 1 year becomes 30% or more.

I do not say you can manage your total investment in Stock market like this. In a bull market you should come to Stocks and in bearish periods to FD.

I feel this is not the time to invest in FDs.
For eg. last week I withdraw remaining FD s and bought HPFL , CF.. ( Do not follow me. )

This is a good opportunity to long term buyers. May be 6 months to 12 months. If you cash rich at now don't stay away. Buy good counters. Keep monitoring. Dont expect short term stuff.
